Job Interview question....?
"If you were asked by a customer to carry out a task which was not within your job description, how would you respond?"
This question is slightly crafty because if you say "I'd tell the customer no", then the interviewer would wonder why you weren't willing to go the extra mile. Yet, if you say "I'd do it", the interviewer may question your lack of reasonable objectiveness. So, people, what's the best answer to give??
5 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment10 years agoPossible cause of BSOD with new build?
It's been a week since my new build has been up and running pretty smoothly. I hadn't had the chance to test the systems potential until tonight
so I decided to run a little test, which I didn't consider to have been too vigorous. I began by ripping a Blu-Ray movie using DVDFab 8 which uses
CUDA Technology from my GPU to supposedly speed up video encoding. Whilst ripping the Blu-Ray disc, I opened Firefox web browser and visited
YouTube and viewed three videos simultaneously, one in 1080p res and two in the default 480p res. Upon opening the third video, my computer froze,
then suddenly the dreaded BSOD :o . I was also running Asus AI Suite II sensor and CoreTemp to monitor my temps.
Do you guys consider this to be enough to cause a BSOD :??: My rig has the following specs:
Mobo: Asus P8P67 Deluxe
CPU: intel Core i7 2600
GPU: Gigabyte 560Ti OC
RAM: 12GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHz
PSU: Corsair HX650
CPU Cooler: Prolimatech Armageddon
Case: NZXT Phantom with 5 case fans
All help and suggestions (and insults ;) ) are welcomed
3 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoAnyone know of any retail stores that sell high end PC components in London?
Need a walk-in retail store where i can purchase PC components like high-end CPU coolers, nVidia graphics cards etc. PC World is crap and it seems as though all the good stuff can only be purchased online :( All suggestions are welcomed.
4 AnswersAdd-ons1 decade agoDo i need more thermal paste?
I installed a new CPU and heatsink, turned my PC on and realised that the wire from the heatsink was obstructing the heatsink fan. So i powered down the system and removed the heatsink so i could angle it better but upon doing this, i noticed the pre-applied thermal paste had melted already! The system wasn't on for no longer than 2-3 mins. Will i need to apply more thermal paste now, or is it ok to install the heatsink as it is?
P.S didn't realise the CPU gets so hot so quick 0_o!
6 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoDual channel RAM question?
Possible silly question alert! (but you'll earn some easy points ;)
My motherboard (Asus P8P67 Deluxe) only support Dual Channel memory architecture. If i want 12 GB of RAM, does it need to be in a sequence like; x2 4GB and x2 2GB. Or can it be x2 4GB and x1 8GB? All advice (and insults :p) are welcome!
3 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoRecommended power supply unit (PSU) for a new PC build?
I'm attempting to build my first PC and need advice as to which power supply would be adequate for my system. My specs are;
Intel Core i7 2600 processor
Asus P8P67 Deluxe motherboard
12GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM 1600Mhz
2TB Hard drive 5400RPM
x2 Blu Ray/DVD RW/Light-scribe drives
Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti Graphics card
PC case with 7 Integrated fans
Not sure about a sound card as i may use on-board sound, and may skip CPU cooling as im not that much of an intense gamer. All suggestions are welcomed and greatly appreciated.
6 AnswersDesktops1 decade ago"Natural" soap question?
I've purchased a bar of soap which claims to be natural and included in the ingredients are sodium chloride and sodium hydroxide. I know these compounds are used in the process to make soap, but doesn't the common process of purifying soap involve removal of sodium chloride and sodium hydroxide? I'm confused....?

I'm flying to Dominican Republic, Punta Cana region, and I'm curious as to whether i need to take anti-malaria pills. My doctor explained that the region i am traveling to is a low risk malaria zone, but should take the pills as a precaution. But i know people who have been and have come back as fit as a fiddle. I have heard the side-effects of the malaria pills are pretty nasty so i don't want to take that risk if its not needed. Whats your opinion/advice?
