Who will win Olympics men figure skating (predictions)?
I am cheering for Hanyu Yuzuru. He blew everyone out of the competition on his team short run. I really hope he can pull it off for the individual competition (where it really counts!).
I also like Patrick Chan, although he was rather heavy on the ice during his team short run performance I thought. He'll have to get his head in the game or pull a Tanya Harding on Yuzuru if he wants gold.
I'm not a big fan of Pluschenko. I hope Japan and Canada both beat him.
How about you? What men are you cheering for and who do you think will win?
2 AnswersOlympics7 years agoYour Ex Track Record: How are they now?
I have a friend who was complaining about how her exes all become strange/embarassing after they're relationship ends. One started doing drugs, another just stopped taking care of himself, another dropped out of school.
Anyway, made me curious; how are your exes? What are they doing now? Is it embarassing to admit you dated them, or are they doing alright?
1 AnswerSingles & Dating8 years agoDo you ever feel sad that you can't cuddle and smother your kid anymore?
When the kids are not little anymore and they've seemed to cross the line from allowing you to cuddle them to finding it 'gross' or 'strange' or whatever, does it sometimes make you sad?
For example, an 8 year old? 10? 12? teenager? Even after they're adults? Do you still wish you could cuddle them or does that desire completely disappear in the parent as well?
6 AnswersParenting8 years agoWhat would you do in this situation?
If a friend of yours was known to be flirtatious with another person (who you hate) at work and the flirting was done by both parties but after the relationship went sour, your friend sued the other person for sexual harassment, would you volunteer to defend the one you hated against your friend or just stay quiet about it and see how it all pans out?
3 AnswersFriends8 years agoWhat do you do when your kids catch you breaking your own rules?
When your kids catch you doing/saying something that they got in trouble for doing/saying, what do you do?
Should you give yourself the same punishment?
Do you just tell them 'I'M THE MOTHER/FATHER' to justify your actions.

4 AnswersPolls & Surveys8 years agoEnglish grammar question "are a"?
"Rice cakes are a traditional Japanese food."
I was told that this is a very natural way to say this by a native speaker, but I don't understand the grammar.
If rice cakes is plural, why do you say "are A"? No one could think of other examples or a grammar point to support this sentence. Does it really make sense? Can someone help?

Including yourself (no need to name names, just saying 'my mother' or 'my sweet little sumo baby' are fine)
7 AnswersPolls & Surveys9 years agoDo you think Kohei Uchimura can pull himself together for the all-around Gymnastics Gold?
I don't know how others feel but so far most of the great athletes have buckled or simply lost in many events (judo, gymnastics, swimming, etc.).
I was so sad that our American female champion did not even qualify for the women's all-around and for the men, Kohei Uchimura is the undisputed best but his qualifications were not good (although he DID qualify).
Do you think he can get it together to get his gold?
1 AnswerOlympics9 years agoWhat countries/teams/athletes do you cheer for that are NOT from your country?
It's very obvious why people cheer for their own countrymen and women but I think a lot of people also find themselves cheering for other athletes whether it be because of their heritage, the athlete's story, they want the defending champs to keep their title, they want an underdog to win, they think the athlete is sexy, etc.
What athletes, teams or countries are you cheering for or have you cheered for in the past?
4 AnswersOlympics9 years agoCan Japan rally back for Gymnastics gold?
By pretty much all accounts the Japanese are the best team in men's gymnastics, but for those of us who watched the qualifying round, they were distracted and sloppy. Kohei Uchimura in particular is the undisputed best in the world, even the US athletes have said so but his performance was way below his level.
Scores all go back to zero for the finals but a team can either rally together or lose heart by such a bad qualifying round... Do you think they can get back their focus to win the gold?

There are many but right now 'Never Been to Me' is coming to mind... (if you know it, feel free to comment about it. lol)

Would you be happy for them in earnest and hang out with them as a couple?
