How do I deal with feeling like my wife and child don't care about me on "special days"?
I'm beginning to dread certain days that traditionally involve well-wishes and gifts . because I feel like I'm an afterthought to my family. For my 50th birthday a few years ago, my wife asked if I wanted a party. I said no and that I'd rather spend the day with just her and our child at a theme park (we had annual passes). Once I said that, any interest in my birthday ended. No gift, just a card with a promise of a gift that never materialized and we didn't take the trip to the theme park as a family. In fact, the next two times that she went, she made a big deal of taking our niece. For our anniversary this year, at the start of the statewide shutdown because of the pandemic, I gave her the custom-made gift she had requested --- she gave me nothing (not even a card) and said she couldn't get me anything because of the pandemic but would get me something later. Three months later: nothing. She made me a basket for teacher appreciation week but forgot to give it to me for over a month. For my birthday, my daughter started to make me a present but didn't finish it in time so she stopped working on it and left it on our coffee table unfinished for the past six weeks. On Father's Day, my wife purchased a last minute gift while she was shopping with our child and while I was waiting in the car; the gift was something I already have. The only person who gave me a Father's Day card was my mother. The behavior won't change so how do I deal with these feelings?

My phone has been hacked by the "Cyber.Police" virus that demands a $100 iTunes gift card in order to regain access to and use of my phone. I've tried turning the phone off and on again. I've also tried letting the battery run out and then recharging the battery before turning the phone back on. Nothing has worked. How can I regain access to my phone and wipe out this virus?

It sounds silly, but this is about a pair of sunglasses. Expensive sunglasses, that my wife gave to me for our anniversary. The glasses were too small for my face and too tight to wear, so we had them exchanged for a larger pair of the same style that were specially ordered by the shopkeeper (our families know each other) as a favor to me. The new pair, though, is too big (I could really have used a size in between the first and second pair, but that size doesn't exist in this style or brand). I feel self-conscious wearing them and I'm beginning to make up reasons not to wear them. Returning them isn't an option for a couple of reasons, but mostly because my wife was excited about this gift, and I'd hate to disappoint her. How do I avoid wearing them without hurting her feelings or how do I deal with wearing something that makes me feel awkwardly uncomfortable?
3 AnswersMarriage & Divorce7 years agoHow can I tell if a prescription is too strong? Just went to a lesser prescription, but not as effective.?
I was recently prescribed reading glasses. Wore them off and on at a meeting that night for a couple of hours and again off and on the next morning at work --- both time, my head pounded and my eyes felt as if someone was pushing down on them. I felt terrible and thought that my prescription was too strong. Went back to the doctor, who slightly lowered the prescription and added for a slight astigmatism in my left eye. The reading prescription isn't as big or clear as before, and I'm trying to adjust to progressive bifocals for the astigmatism, which makes working at the computer difficult. Still have a headache, but not as great. How does one know if prescription is too strong and how can I tell if the current prescription is the right one? Any hints for getting used to progressive lenses?
