  • How to improve Public Speaking skills?

I have a presentation for a school project coming up and I was wondering how to improve my sales pitch and general public speaking abilities. Usually during speeches, I unknowingly talk very fast although I'm not "really" that nervous. Also, how should I connect to the audience more? I always feel like I'm on auto-pilot and ramble on and not really talking to the audience. Thanks for any tips!!

  • What are ways to get scholarship money for exchange programs?

I want to participate in a 7 week foreign language exchange program over the summer but it costs around 5000 dollars. Besides earning scholarships (through essays/applications, etc), are there other good and effective ways to do this? Is there such a thing as writing to a local company and asking them to sponsor me by donating money? Thanks!

  • Can anybody identify this French movie?

I'm looking for a French movie where a girl takes a walk every morning at the same time (7:00) because she really likes the philosopher Immanuel Kant and that's what he did every morning. Does this sound familiar to anybody? I don't know the central plot, but does anyone knows what film this is?

    Thanks!

  • Taking AP European History and AP U.S. History in the same year of high school?

Does anybody think this is too hard or too much history for one year? Along with these two, I would also take Honors English, Honors French IV, Honors Chemistry, 1/2 year of gym/drawing I, Honors PreCalculus, which is my sophomore year. I took AP World History as a freshman, along with Honors English, Honors French III, Honors Biology, 1/2 year of gym/health, and Honors Algebra II with very good grades in all.

I do like history, but does it sound like too much?

    Thanks!

  • Honors Chemistry and Physics in the same year for high school?

Does anyone think this will be too difficult? Two science classes of Honors Chem and Physics? I'm also planning on taking Honors PreCalculus, Honors English, Honors French 4, AP U.S. History, 1/2 of Gym and Drawing 1. This will be my sophomore year. For my freshman year, I took Honors Algebra II, Honors English, Honors French 3, AP World History, 1/2 gym and health, Advanced Orchestra and I still had very good grades. I am okay in the sciences, but does this seem like too much science in one year?

  • Is taking too many SAT II's bad?

On average, how many SAT II Subject Tests should an Ivy League applicant take? Is it possible to take too many and have a negative effect on your application? Should you only take these tests after taking an AP class over the same subject or will completing a regular/honors class be enough to take a subject test? If not, would it be a bad idea to take a subject test over all the courses you've taken in school, like Biology, World History, US History, Chemistry, Physics, Math II, Literature, Chinese, French?

    Thanks for any info!
