I am trying to start a tent city that will be legal, but one law stops me from doing this: California's 647(e). The City of Santa Cruz has a similar sleeping ban ordinance but can only be enforced on those individuals who dont sign up on the local shelter waiting list. When we tried a tent city last year, the county Sheriff issued numerous 647(e) tickets in front of the courthouse and at City Hall. I am unsure why the county Sheriff was issuing the tickets; I think it was because the courthouse and City Hall are both county property, not city property.

Anyways, would the City or County of Santa Cruz be able to issue 647(e) tickets on City property even though City codes state the waiting list stuff?

My landlord wants to come inspect the house because she thinks (or someone told her) that the house is really dirty. So if the house is dirty, then she will hire a "professional" cleaner to clean up the place and take it out of our deposit. Is she allowed to do that??? I think she can come see the house, but there's nothing in the contract saying we HAVE TO KEEP THE INSIDE CLEAN...only the outside.

So this girl i just met, and kind of like, told me she has HPV. I want to see her more, but the way I see it is I can see her and get a little close and hope it doesn't rip or even somehow spread to me, or I can just call it quits early. But the thing with that is I'm closing out my options to meet a really cool person solely on the fact that she has HPV...and I hate that. Would a rubber reaaaally prevent me from getting this? Am I taking too big of a risk for nothing?

I hate this. I started seeing this girl for about 2 weeks. We were together all the time, whenever we could see each other. She was telling me she never felt like this before n' crap. One day, all of a sudden, she I guess didn't like that we were spending so much time together, that she needs some space. She was telling me she broke up with her boyfriend after 2 years two weeks ago and that she needs time to get over that.

What am I suppose to think when this girl supposedly really likes me, but I can't do anything because she needs "time"????

I signed up for financial aid at my school (UCSC) and i filled out all the paperwork and they offered my about 6k per quarter. Supposedly the way it works is that they pay for all the upcoming fees with it then send you the remaining money, which includes tuition. But I already get the Cal-Vet fee waiver which pays for my tuition, and that I signified on all the paperwork. I forgot to get my Cal-Vet paperwork in soon enough but it will be in within the next couple days. So now the financial aid paid for my tuition!

I talked to someone and they said that they didn't take into account that I had the Cal-Vet fee waiver (even though I signified it in all the paperwork) and that I should only be getting about 2.5k per quarter. I guess my question is: Are they allowed to TAKE BACK money they already offered and that I accepted because of their mistakes of looking over my Cal-Vet?

This guy that moved in to my place is really weird. He'll be gone for the entire day without telling anyone where he was. He hits on all my girlfriends (friends that happen to be girls..). When he drinks he likes to jump in front of moving cars. He's like 26 and has been a maintenance guy for like 7 years and is helping us pay for groceries and fix up our place. I really don't know much about him but all my friends don't trust him even to the extent of not allowing him over to their places (probably cuz he hits on them/asks them out). He's very closed minded about things, like 'I am always right' mentality. He's only living here for another 2 weeks or so, but I don't know if I can trust/deal with him for that long. What should i doooooo err?

I always find myself meeting girls while I'm drunk. I've had some drunk hook-ups but I don't find that satisfying. Anyways, I met this one girl while I was drunk one time, and we made out and we keep in touch on facebook still...obviously interested in each other. Nothing is weird or anything, but I realized that I HATE meeting up with cool girls and unable to start a substantial relationship because we get drunk and one thing leads to another. I guess what I am asking is WHERE THE HELL ARE ALL COOL, SOBER, UNTAKEN GIRLS IN MY LIFE WHERE I DONT HAVE TO GO TO A PARTY AND MEET THEM WHILE THEY'RE DRUNK?

I'm moving back to California very soon, and i've been talking to this girl for 3 months straight everyday and i have this feeling she is wanting to take the relationship a bit further when i get back in a couple weeks. I moved from California about a year ago and this girl i hardly knew started talking to me 3 months ago. We've been talking on the phone every day since for a couple hours a day (if her parents permit it). I'm going back to California at the end of this month. I can't help to think that someone who talks to me that much must like me to a certain extent. I've never been in a long term relationship and she's been in one for 2 1/2 years!!! I feel like i'm out of my league and i tell her that and she makes me feel better. But were still just friends, it gets a little awkward talking about US in a relationship...considering we've only seen eachother a few times and only had 1 actual conversation in person. What should i do?
