wind power turbine generation?
I was thinking of making a wind turbine to create power, just an experiment, (12 volt ) unless someone can suggest another voltage ?
I`ve found that someone threw out brand new,
32 plastic (squirrel cages) blower fans,
5.5 in, Dia.
2.5 in. High
.25 in. Shaft dia.
30 fins each
I live in Penticton BC Canada
(http://www.livingin-canada.com/climate-penticton.h... where the average wind speed according to my calculations over a year is 11.2 KM per hour and with gusts of 40-50 KM per hour, it is not unusual to have gust double the wind speed.
I live on the 6th floor but can put the final product (experimental) in a garden plot on ground level, I think it would be detrimental to build one tower as it would be over 6 feet high and cause problems of balance or should I say out of balance and pressure on the bearing.
The way I figure it if I go 10 blowers high with a ball bearing at the top and bottom and glue them all together I would still have to drill out the centre with a hole saw between the top blower and the bottom blower in order for the air to form a vortex and have some place to go.
I`m 59 years young and as long as a keep my mind active and think
I will not end up like my father with Alzheimer's, any and I mean any idea no matter how outlandish are welcome, thanking you in advance Gregoroff
PS I do not have a degree of any kind but do not let that deter you if you have some abbreviations and or titles after your name, what ever you say I will figure it out I've got one thing and that is common scene most of the time and that is not so common anymore.
Thanks (Спасибо )
5 AnswersEngineering10 years agoElectronics how many mA are in one amp?
2 AnswersCar Audio & Electronics10 years agoLow E glass & passive solar gain or loss?
I live in a high rise and they are replacing all the windows with double glazed low E windows, the way the this is in the BC Canada we have temp ranging from 85 high in the summer to low 25 in winter the building was constructed with overhanging balconies which means no direct sunlight in the summer but in the winter the sun shines in and warm the interior.
My question does it make sense to replace the windows and lose the heat gain in the winter?

2 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agocompost newspaper or recycle?
Is it better to recycle newspaper or compost it ?
after composting what would it add to the soil ?
I've heard somewhere that you can use cardboard spread on the garden in the spring to heat up the soil and prevent weeds and it will deteriorate later
any comments with substance welcome
