Should the 14th- Amendment be interpreted as explained by its authors and originally voted on?
Senator Jacob Merritt Howard, explained his Citizenship Clause with these words, “This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons.
Senator Reverdy Johnson of Maryland further explained the intent “Now, all this amendment provides is, that all persons born in the United States and not subject to some foreign power be considered
The Supreme Court has never held that the Citizenship Clause automatically confers U.S. citizenship on all children born within the territory of the United States.
“More importantly, just as the Court maintains that the government cannot unilaterally strip a U.S. citizen of his citizenship, an individual cannot unilaterally decide to be a U.S. citizen. Citizenship is not self-selected: it is granted on the basis of qualification for it.

He and his wife went on ALL the news and talk shows to decry the vile lyrics and content of ‘70’s…Rock and Roll music!

2 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade agoToday is a federal holiday…How do you plan to celebrate Constitution Day?
The act mandates that all publicly funded educational institutions provide educational programming on the history of the American Constitution on that day. The United States Department of Education announced the enactment of this law and that it would apply to any school receiving federal funds of any kind.
Ask your children what they learned about the Constitution today…If the Constitution was not given priority in your school today, the teachers and administrators are in violation of federal law and should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!

5 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade ago“Follow the money!” Benevolent Hezbolla! Did they have insurance on those they set up to be killed?
Six years ago the U.N. declared Hezbollah a terrorists organization and ordered them disarmed. Whereas they own no oil fields, multi-national corporations, or patent rights on Microsoft...? Where are they getting all this money they promise, (will it ever really materialize?), and if it does exactly what did a group of murdering terrorists do to earn that much cash?
Maybe the best way to round up that murdering radical terrorists group is to form a Shia version of the I.R.S. and go after them on tax evasion!
