i am manager of a very small workforce, (3 staff) one member of staff is very shy and works to his capability without interacting with anyone. not a problem on that one, but his job is very labourious and leaves lots of time for the mind to wander, also, because of the nature of the job,he works alone.(he has his i.pod for company) lately, he has been making silly mistakes that has a knock on effect for the other staff, when asked why, he just looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights and cant offer anything other than to say sorry. i want to try and motivate rather than disipline him but dont know how to start without pushing him further into his shell. he gets paid well above average for the job that he does so, money or gifts are not an incentive that is on offer. thankyou

what has happenend to most of the channels on freeview? i can only get qvc/bid tv type channels or the obscure gay/babe etc channels (none of which i watch). i know that from next week sky sports news is going pay for view but i didnt realise that i would be left virtually no channels. can anyone enlighten me please x

i work in a small pub/restaurant (3 full time & 6 part-time staff). the owner has now said that if anyone is caught using a mobile phone will:

if caught a 1st time, receive a verbal warning

if caught a 2nd time, be fined £5

if caught a 3rd time, be fined £10

and subsequently, a written and then final warning and then dismissal.

question: is a mon'etary fine legal?

you might say " you know the rules so suffer the consequences" but, the this has just been announced, nothing in peoples contracts (staff hand books don't exist) and to be fair to all that work there, we are all too busy working to abuse the system anyway! thankyou

i have had conflicting info. some people say that they dont have to be re-taken and others say that they last indefinatley.

Is there anyone out there that isnt happy with the government wanting to add another year onto retirement age? once again the government has decided that i am to work even longer into my old age. retire at 60 - oh no lets change it to 65. retirement age 65 - lets now add another year on. ive worked all my life (since i was 14), with 2 x 7 days paper rounds and dont want to continue until i drop. the government make the rules without thinking of implications such as physical and manual backbreaking jobs. the trouble is that certain people have never and will never work and its easier for the government to keep the work horses until they drop than it is to try and the unwilling to work. comments please.

ive been printing pictures successfully pc 2 printer this afternoon - then - my pc prompts "picture printing" but nothing happens - no printing of the pictures at all. it seems to me (i know nothing about this technology though) as though the pictures are somehow being stored somewhere before going to the printer but i dont know where!! can anyone help please? thankyou
