What is the plastic "barrel" on the cord of some AC adapters?
There's something I've always been curious about, being a budding tech geek - Some AC adapters have a plastic "barrel" on the cord, usually close to the plug (example: http://imgur.com/3LtCX.jpg ). Can anyone tell me what this is? Is it a fuse of some sort?
