Should I change my concert seats? (for experienced concert goers)?
Next week I am going to see Hilary Hahn play the Korngold Violin Concerto at Avery Fisher Hall. My seats are to the far right and front seats of the orchestra section. Might my view of the soloist be blocked by the conductor? Last week i saw Joshua Bell play glazunov (student tickets are the best), and i had a front center seat that was great. Thanks!
2 AnswersClassical6 years agoHow can i make it as a violist?
I play the viola, am very dedicated, love the instrument and classical music, would want nothing more than to play professionally (as a teacher, soloist, orchestra, whatever, i just want to be able to play). Only problem, I started very late (at 13), and am working as hard as possible to catch up (I aim for 3 hours practice daily). After one year of study (14 now), I'm currently working on the Telemann Viola Concerto and his Concerto for Two Violas. How can i make it into a music college, etc?
6 AnswersClassical7 years agoTaking a break from viola/violin?
I've been playing the viola for the past year (13 now), and although i'm still a beginner I love the instrument and classical music, and dedicate at least 1 1/2 hours a day to practice, plus one lesson a week. However, for the next 4-6 weeks I won't have access to the instrument, so how will this effect my playing? I do plan on maintaining exercises which don't require the instrument, but any suggestions of instrument-free exercises would be helpful. Thanks!
