  • Do you think that I'm too old to consider joining the Air Force Reserves?

I'm 33 years old, single, no kids and I've always wanted to join the military but I wasn't sure of myself when I was younger. I would love to serve my country even if its only on a part time basis. I talked to my friends and family about this and much to my chagrin, they claim that i'm too old and that I should focus on working and starting a family. I have 3 classes left before I graduate with a BS in Computer Science, but I dread working in corporate/tech America. The older I get, the more I seek travel and adventure. I guess its an early mid life crisis. I'm open to the idea of travel and a second income. Despite my age, I'm in good shape (although I need to lose a few lbs, lol). Any advice, given my situation?

I know C++ and familiar with Java. What languages should I study? What software can I use for the design process? What's the best type of computer should I invest in? Thanks

  • How can I transform body fat into more defined muscles?

I'm 5'6" and I weight 160 lbs. I'm considered overweight according to my height standards. I'm trying to lost at least 5 lbs, but I want to transform most body fat into muscles. So far, I've lost 3 lbs. via fat burner. My upper body is kinda defined, but its not the way that I want it. I generally do some cardio, at least 20 mins, daily. However, I don't want to lost too much muscles as a result. Can anyone recommend a good workout plan so that I can achieve this goal.

  • Can I get another financial aid appeal for the same academic year? I need advice.?

I had to get an appeal for the spring 09 semester because I exceeded my maximum credit hours and I was no longer eligible for aid. I explained to them that I was only a few credit hours away from graduation and asked if they would re-instate my financial aid so that I could finish my degree program during the summer semester. Unfortunately, I failed my physics class which was worth 4 credit hours and as a result my GPA dropped to a 1.4 for that semester. My overall GPA is still 2.3 and I'm have "Good Standing" according to the university's standards. I didn't perform well this semester because I transferred to another store regarding my job and it was 20 miles away from home. Also, my daily commute to school was 50 miles away, so I was literally spending hundreds of dollars of months on gas and I was also tired as a result of all the driving. My grades start to drop because of that. I'm really desperate because I'm so close to graduation and I can't afford summer school and the fall semester because my check is still garnished and I can't afford to pay for it. Like I stated before, this is my second appeal and I'm really nervous because I messed up unintentionally and I really want to prove my self worth and retake the class that I failed during the summer to prove that I can be thorough. Any advice?

  • Which is faster 6.0 Megs on a T1 line or 13 Megs on a Coax cable?

I sell high speed internet service with AT&T and I want to know which is faster. I know it may seem like a no brainer, but I'm determining the speed regarding the type of medium.

6.0 megs on a T1 line. It is a dedicated line just for data and there's no congestion.

    or

13 Megs on a coax cable. (via cable company) The cable is shared, meaning that both data and cable stream through that one line. So, there's a possiblility that there can be congestion resulting in slow times.

I'm thinking 6 megs is better. Am I correct? If not, why? If so, why?

  • How can I achieve these goals in '09? (Serious responses plz)?

I hate new years resolutions, so I'm going to refer to it as "short term" goals for 2009.

These are a couple of things that I'm looking into:

    1. Learn a foreign language (preferably Spanish, German or Japanese)

    2. Increasing my sales and productivity at my job

    3. Relocate to another city (preferably L.A., Atlanta, Dallas, or Miami)

    4. Stop Procrastination

    5. Mediate more

    6. Build more Muscles

    7. Pay off debts

Now, most of the responses that i'm probably going to get are no brainers, but let me shed a lil light on my current situation. I'm 28 y.o. and i work part time in retail; i sell wireless service. I'm also a student struggling to finish my final two semesters at a college thats 50 miles away; which i drive to daily. I stay at home with my mom and I find it difficult to concentrate on my studies and all. My wages have been garnished about a month or so ago and due to the collapsing economy my sales aren't the same, thus my pay is severly suffering. I am constantly stressed out by all of this. I have a car note that I'm a month behind in and I'm also helping my mom with bills. I really need help because I'm in over my head, but I really want to succeed and achieve the above goals. • How can I improve my looks? (Serious responses only plz!)?

    http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b325/500_Degreez...

I have trouble getting attention from women and I think its because of my looks. My self-esteem is really low right now. I compare myself to other guys and they seem to not have any trouble getting women. I even say the right things, but to no avail. Is it my looks? What can I do to improve them?
