I enjoy writing music, and sometimes I get inspiration from songs that were already written and made. How far can I "copy" the song before it's considered plagerism? Of course I NEVER officially copy a song and call it my own, but there may be certain elements that are evidently associated with that song that I may get "inspiration" from, but what is going too far?

Also, what if I intentionally "copied" a song but gave full credit to the true composer?

For example, my friends and I are working on a Star Wars project, and any Star Wars story needs THE Star Wars theme song, right? I wrote my own version, but as long as I only take credit for my "remake" of it but give John Williams the credit for his creation, is it considered legal?

Basically, when do I cross the line of plagerism???

I've tried looking up how to improve graphics and performance, but the articles I find tell me how to increase the performance quality but decrease the graphics quality. I want BOTH to be increased.

To be a little more specific, I have a Toshiba laptop that's only a few years old with 3GB of RAM. I'm playing the free-to-play Star Wars: The Old Republic and my computer works best on the Very Low or Low graphics qualities. I LOVE the higher graphics, but my computer can't handle it.

Even if I have to buy more RAM or something, I'll do it, but no major changes, y'know?

I'm an FF fan, but I never planned on playing the online games. But XIV just looks so amazing (now, lol) so I wanted to try it. But I can't find a place to download it, so I'm guessing I have to wait for the PS3 version??? I'm really confused about that.

I'm trying to find young, cute video game boy characters like Hope Estheim from Final Fantasy XIII and Emil from NieR Gestalt and Replicant as inspiration for my own characters (I promise I won't plagarize or anything, lol). It could be from an anime, too, if you can't think specifically of video game characters.

I currently have an iMac G5 20" 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo (if all that info helps at all, lol) that I borrowed from a friend. I'm a PC person so I know barely anything about Macs, so please bear with me. :P

So I use Logic Pro frequently, but I only have 2GB of RAM and it's always crashing! It would either freeze and the rainbow disc would appear, or the screen would just go black! It wouldn't stop "thinking" so I would have to turn it off manually. It got so bad I decided to just get more RAM.

So my first question is: What is the maximum RAM I can have on my iMac? (I believe it's 4, but let me know.)

My goal (unless you say otherwise) is to get 4GB (two 2GB cards) of RAM and install them. OR should l get this one? http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-200-pin-667MHz-DDR2... This one has reviews, at least, and it seems to work well with Macs/iMacs.

Also, I picked up two 1GB RAM cards (on accident) at Best Buy and the brand was PNY--and I looked it up on Amazon, and there are positive reviews for the PCs but negative reviews for the Macs! So what I bought would not have worked anyway?

Or... do I not need RAM at all, but some other upgrade???

I really, really, really want to learn to play violin (except I can't afford lessons... heh heh. So I'll be teaching myself and use online tutorials. Yes, I know, I'm stupid. -_-).

Anyway, at first I was planning on getting an electric Cecilio violin, but although the good reviews outweighed the bad reviews, I still had a bad feeling when I finally got enough to buy it. But I really wanted to get an electric violin for a number of reasons: they're "silent" (I live in a quiet neighborhood), and I could plug it into my computer or an amp for recording or performing, and it comes in a variety of colors! (Hahaha) I don't know if that helps at all, but I just wanted to let you know this info so you could help me decide on what kind of violin I should look for.

So now I'm considering raising a bit more for a used REAL violin (I heard used violins are almost "better" than new violins because they've been "loved". ^_^ LOL) But I don't really know what I'm supposed to look for! Could you give me a guideline as to what I should look for in a good violin, please? Any other comments about violin for this beginner is much appreciated. ^_^

I don't wish to spend too much for a violin IN CASE it turns out that for some reason I cannot continue this pursuit. But I want to buy something good--NOT decent, NOT great, but GOOD. So what is a good price for a good violin: what's a rip-off, and what's a great deal?

(Btw, I play piano and know about music, but I'm clueless when it comes to violin. So I'm a violin newbie, not a music newbie. ;)

I don't know why, but I have this pet peeve where I have to have at LEAST a nice case for the games I really want/like.

However, the GameStop closest to my house recently got rid of all their PS2 cases. (Are all GameStops getting rid of PS2 cases to save space? Will a bigger GameStop carry PS2 cases?)

Here's my main question: If I buy old PS2 games from GameStop.com will I get the cases and/or manuals with them?

I doubt it, but I just want to be sure. Or maybe I should just get over this stupid pet peeve. It'll save some money anyway. :P

I want to play the "Tales of Graces f" that just came out, but will I not get the most out of it if I haven't played the older "Tales" games first?

Same with the "Atelier" games. I wanna play "Atelier Rorona" and all those PS3 games that are out, but should I play them in chronological order before playing the newer ones?

Or is it like Final Fantasy where they all have a similar title but they're not necessarily connected? (Unless it's X-2 or XIII-2. lol)

Some people say "60gb PS3s are the BEST! They're fully backwards compatible and I have had no problems with them!"

Others (including a GameStop dude I talked to) say "60gb PS3s SUCK! They're not worth it because they die fast!"

Please give me accurate, (OVER-DETAILED, if possible) information about what I should buy. My folks don't want me to get a PS2 AND a PS3 unless it's completely unavoidable. They prefer I get a fully backwards compatible PS3, and I would prefer that, too.

PLEASE from personal experience or what you've heard, tell me the Pros and Cons of a PS3 60gb backwards compatible, or any fully backwards compatible PS3 out there.

After the GameStop dude told me that the fully backwards compatible 60GB PS3 would break down within months, he convinced me that I needed to buy a PS2 and a PS3 seperately. OK, whatever. PS2's are pretty cheap. But I'm not sure which PS3 to get... I know they're all pretty much the same, but which one is the BEST, but within my price range? (Preferably under $250) I just need your opinion (and a few facts) about different PS3s so I can decide which one I like best.

I'm inbetween a casual and an obsessed gamer (XP) so I don't need the million-GB systems. I'm a complete newbie when it comes to violins (not so much music, just violins) and I would like to learn.

HOWEVER I don't want it to be very expensive. I just want to try it out so that I don't waste money on a $500 violin and I never even enjoy it. I was looking at this violin:

Yes, you proffessional violinists are probably like, "this thing will SUCK!" I know, I know, but I just want something simple (but with a nice sound, if possible for such a cheap price). Besides, I saw a review from a talented violinist who seems to know what he's doing ("Cecilio Violin Review" on YouTube). He said it was very good for a cheap violin, and I heard it myself and I'm satisfied with the sound. But I don't want to have just one opinion, so your opinion would be nice!

Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 are all on the PSP, too, right? What are the pros and cons of having it on PSP?(Besides that it's portable and you can play it wherever, whenever! :D)

Any personal experiences, good or bad, that you've had with the PSP versions of these games? Or is it better to just get the original PlayStation versions?
