I am throwing a baby shower next weekend for my daughter.She asked me if she has to open the gifts in front of everyone or can she open them after the baby is born? I told her to do whatever she feels most comfortable with. What do I tell my guest if they ask why she is not opening their gifts?

I don't want to give the usual favors to my guest, something different not in a bag. Its a baby girl shower any suggestions what party favors to give out that are not the usual ones? There is no special theme I just wanted to give something unique besides the candy filled blocks or bags???

This is my first grandchild being born and Im making the baby shower for my daughter. What are some gifts to give out to the winners of my baby shower games? Any other suggestions to help me along with this shower would be great.The colors are Pink and purple and there is no theme so far..The shower is the first week in December.

Im having a hard time finding bridal shower gift because the brides theme is a hoarse and carriage. There are many sites out there but none with her theme > does anyone know of websites that sell bulk favors and I will have to check them all out. My other option is all pink and lavender gifts because those are her favorite colors. Thanks

Do you know of any websites that truly offer the best deal mostly in paper or plastic goods for this gala event? Any ideas for fun games to play as well? I have scheduled a bridal shower for June 20, 2010 and I know many people make their summer plans early. Is it ok to send out save the dates cards by the first week of March or is that way to soon? I know I have gotten save the dates for parties scheduled months in advanced as well. After all isnt that the idea of sending save the dates? If this was your party when would you get your save the date cards out????

I sent out wedding invites for my daughters wedding in 5 weeks. The Response card due date is next week. There are still allot of people who have not answered and i am wondering if i am supposed to call them and ask them or just assume they are not coming? This wedding has security due to the large amount of people coming and a well known entertainer who will be performing so the entertainer requires security with a name check at the door so basically people who have not replied if they show up will not be able to enter the wedding. Should all those phone calls be made or not? What would you do?

I am wondering how many of you think that the President Obama wears a bullet proof vest when he is out in the public eye like on his date in N.Y. city with his wife? A few friends and i had this debate and i said i do believe he wears something to protect him aside from his body guards. What do you think? Does he or does he not wear a bullet proof vest ?

I am playing several games at my daughters upcoming bridal shower and want o know what type of gifts would you give out to the winners of the bridal shower games? I mean they are all women and i don't want to spend a lot of money on gifts so what do you suggest i give the winners??? I need about a dozen gifts for the winners of these games.

I am thinking about getting some false eyelashes before my daughters shower and i have heard alot of pros and cons about getting them. have any of you had this done before and can you tel me what they do to your eyelashes? does it hurt? is this dangerous to do? please tell me about your experience if you have false eyelashes thanks

Please let me begin by saying that if you don't like wedding questions or polls no need to answer. I want to know what you would put in a wishing well for a bridal shower? If you have ever been to a wishing well bridal shower before what kind of gifts would you suggest i put in the well? This is the first shower i have ever made and any help is appreciated.

We have 8 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen for my daughters upcoming wedding. The men all have reserved their tuxedos BUT the women.....oh my god! Why are they so difficult????They are so lax about going to the bridal store to get their dresses. One girl actually went out and bought her own dress not even in our color scheme and simply apologizes to me about it. What am i to do about the hard time these girls are giving me???If i start to boot them my daughter will end up with NO bridesmaids!!! They are truly lazy and so unhelpful.What do i do to get them to start moving themselves???

A friend from work got engaged a few weeks ago. She is also going to be a guest with her fiance at my daughters wedding in September. My invitations are set sealed and ready to be mailed soon. My problem is that the invitations were addressed by a professional calligraphy company and it takes weeks for a new envelope to be done over or a new name added on. My friend came to work today telling everyone that her fiance broke off their engagement and are no longer seeing each other. I don't know what to do about my daughters wedding invitation already pre addressed to her and her fiance???? Do i just tell her that the envelopes were done already or just send it and she will obviously come alone??? What do you think is the right way to handle this sticky situation???

Well my daughter is getting married in September and we have 8 bridesmaids. I being the brides mom am on top of these girls to remind them about going for their dresses. Why is it that i constantly have to call them and tell them to go for their fittings? The dresses are coming in from overseas and take 2 months till we get them. If you were someones bridesmaid wouldn't you RUN to get your dress ? I feel like i am doing all their jobs because they don't lift a finger and offer any help.not even with helping me for her bridal shower.How would you handle this situation? I also ended up stuffing my daughters 250 invitations by hand and no one offered to come help me. Is this the new way for the 2009 bridesmaids??

Well i am now up to 200+ invitations for my daughters wedding. I am looking for a private company that addresses invitations with calligraphy. I have been having trouble with my template that addresses them and have given up hope. Are there any other nice ways to address 200+ invites by hand...by myself or does anyone know of a good comp that does it.
