  • Why isn't Thomas Paine celebrated more as one of America's Founding Fathers?

If it hadn't been for Thomas Paine's pen, I think it's safe to say that there probably wouldn't be a United States of America in existence today. However most Americans don't even know who he is, let alone what he did for the revolution. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is?

  • Is the magazine 'The Atlantic' considered a conservative or a liberal publication?

I was interested in finding out which way the magazine is known to slant, if it slants at all. Thanks ahead of time Yahoo! Answers!

  • What does O.O.T.S. generally stand for in regards to sports?

I posted a comment up in an NHL message board that I visit daily, my message pertained to some rival teams in the division, and I received a response which stated, "I pay close attention to the OOTS as well...yadda yadda yadda". What does OOTS stand for in this instance? I figured because my post and the response where in reference to other teams in the division that OOTS stands for Order Of The Standings. Is this correct?

  • What is a "circus road trip" in the NHL?

I feel stupid because for as long as I've been watching ice hockey, I've never known what is meant by the term "circus road trip". What makes it different from a regular road trip? Is it a type of road trip that has the team out on the road for many games in a row? Like a seven game road trip versus a three game trip? Any info would be great...thanks ahead of time!

  • Should I start Steve Slaton or Maurice Jones-Drew this week?

I know Jones-Drew just had an awesome multi-TD game but this week he's going up against the Vikings and their 2nd ranked run-defense. Meanwhile Slaton is facing the Browns and their 27th ranked run-defense.

  • What is the Thorndike Basic Series for books?

I was looking for Stephen Kings' new book 'Just After Sunset: Stories' over at www.Powells.com when i came across something I have never seen before. After entering the new King book in the search area, it came back with a hardcover edition $22, a special collectors set for $38, and then an edition called the Thorndike Basic for $46. I came to find many titles printed under this Thorndike series. What is it?

  • I need to know which two of my WRs would you start this weekend?

I have two WR slots to fill this week and the following receivers to choose from: Lion's Calvin Johnson @ CAR, Skin's Santana Moss vs DAL, Raven's Derrick Mason (Q) @ NYG, and/or Eagle's DeSean Jackson @ CIN. Everyone but Calvin Johnson is banged up to some degree, with Mason being the worst and will probably be listed as Questionable tomorrow. (There's a 70% chance Mason doesn't play this week)

  • Which version of the Xbox 360 is priced at $199?

I just saw a commercial that has the Xbox 360 priced at $199. Is that for the Arcade model? If so...is it worth it for only $199?

  • What is the best website that charts the election polls?

I was wondering if there is a good website out there which charts all of the polls re: this year's presidential race. Polls differ so much from one another, I would like to see what happens when they're all combined. I am also interested in seeing what the tracking numbers look like when all of the polls are put together. Everyday the news is showing a different poll with totally different results. Some show it close, others show it as bordering on a blowout. Thanks ahead of time for any pointers.
