My 17 year old sister has recently starting dating a 30 year old man that "was" a friend of our 25 year old brother. They are no longer friends because of this and the relationship has the entire family in an up-roar. They were sneaking around for about 3 months and she finally had to come clean to our parents because this jerk exposed her to chlamydia. She lost her virginity to this guy. Our parents were totally against the relationship and told her to end it. But then she started lying and sneaking to see him. Our parents then decided to let them be together hoping to take the thrill out of sneaking and maybe the relationship would end on it's own. Even though he is 30 years old he really doesn't act his age. He still lives at home with his mommy, has a part time job delivering pizza and just hangs out with his friends playing video games. We even caught him talking to other girls on the internet and he is still involved with his ex; he stalks her and sit in her drive way for hours calling her until she comes out. He was cheated on by his ex wife and now thinks all women are c*nts; that is what he refers to women. When we told my sister about this, she says she knows but she loves him and wants to still be with him. We are afraid that she is going to ruin her life, get a disease or even get pregnant. What can we do to make her see that this guy is no good for her? He's only with her because he can't find a woman his own age. Please any suggestions on how we can get through to her! Unfortunatley she will be 18 in a few months and in the state of Ohio the consentual age for sex is 16 so we can't do anything legal. Is there anything we can do to help her see him for what he really is? She is so blinded by "love" that she doesn't even care that he is mistreating her.

I have 5 herniated discs and was on hydrocodone for a few months and recently they have not been helping. When I discussed this with my doctor he prescribed methadone. The only thing I can find on the internet is how it is used to wean people off of heroin. What am I getting myself into? The hydrocodone gave me a euphoric feeling, but no other side effects. What can I expect from the methadone 5mg?

I have a 7 yr old daughter and I have been married to her step dad for about a year and a half. They get along most of the time. But, when I leave them two alone, I usually come home to them fighting (even if I go to the store for 30 minutes) My husband feels like she is being disrespectful to him and she feels like he doesn't like her. He doesn't have any children of his own and I understand that he was thrown into this already made family without any experience, but at the same time I feel like he is the adult and should be able to be in control. He always tells her to ask me for things. My daughter can be very demanding and is a pro at temper tantrams. I just feel like everyone depends on me to solve the problem and I really don't know how. I've talked to them both, and everything seems ok for awhile and then it always comes back to them fighting. I just want us to get along with each other without me being stuck in the middle. I love my daughter and I love my husband.

It is our 1st anniversary and I want to get my husband something great. Any idea's? My husband is very hard to shop for, I have a terrible time at Christmas and birthday's. He doesn't listen to music that often, he's not into his car, he's not a sports nut and he's trying to loose weight, so I don't want to get him clothes that he may not be able to wear in a few months. I don't really want to get him anything too materialistic, I want something more sentimental. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I got married in March and my husband is taking care of my daughter from prev. relationship. Her biological father isn't around much. He calls 2-3 times a month, no child support, doesn't see her. My daughter doesn't want to see him (her decision) I don't bad mouth her father. Recently she has been asking to have her last name changed to mine and her step dad's last name. I tried to explain what would happen if she did and she says that she still wants her name changed. I really think she is too young to make this kind of decision, but she acts like she really, really wants it. I don't know what to do, I know her father isn't going to just roll over, he'll fight me on this. My husband is the only father figure in her life and he supports us and he wants to legally adopt her. So my question is, is my daughter too young to decide? And if I do this, how do I go about telling her father?
