  • Does anyone want to read my travel narrative/ romance memoir?

I just finished polishing up a draft of a memoir I've written about life in Costa Rica and falling for my fling. It is geared towards women. I'd like to get some non-biased opinions on what I've written. If anyone wants to read it shoot me an email at emlyeat23@aol.com and write Pura Vida in the subject. I'd be happy to pass it your way on a pdf file.

  • Should I check out Manhattan beach or dockweiler beach during an all day LAX layover?

In July I get into LAX at 11 am and don't leave until 6 pm. I'll be traveling alone with my 16 month old baby. We both have the nexus/global entry so I'm not worried about airport lines.

I was thinking of just spending a few hours at a local easy beach close to the airport.

At first I was all for Manhattan, but then I saw their was Dockweiler.

I don't necessarily need shopping or restaurants as we have airport lounge access. I am looking for a nice place to hang out and relax and play in the water.

Should I be worried about shark attacks? I won't be going far in with the baby, but I'm still a bit scared of them.

  • how do we make time for ourselves with a new baby?

We can't seem to find a common ground for our us time. We live away from our friends and our family isn't near to help. I'm a SAHM & also have a little side skincare line, and take care of everything that has to do with the home. I try and squeeze in a workout at the gym a few times a week. My husband doesn't like the baby dumped on him when he comes home from work. It's better if I am home in the evening, because she gets fussy. I've been trying to go to the gym early in the morning when she is passed out, at 5:30 or 6 am. Sometimes she wakes up a little or my husband says he's been up since when I got up and it's not fair to him because he has to work all day. Is it unfair that I go to the gym early a few days a week? Should I just go at night and let him deal with a crying baby without mama?

He acts like I just get to stay home & can nap & it's my fault I'm always busy. I appreciate I can be with my baby and my husband is a great supporter for our family, yet when it comes time for me to have time for myself he makes me feel guilty. When the baby was 3 months old I let him go away on a guys trip to Europe, I stayed home with the baby, and just this past weekend he went to go visit a childhood friend on a quick weekend road trip, so i was home making sure the baby was well taken care of 24/7. For Friday-Monday I didn't work out and I didn't get up early so he would have extra sleep, now the one day I do he is all complaining about it, and I'm the inconsiderate one.
