Assault Weapon is a phrase with no meaning. It means nothing and therefore can mean anything you want it to. Why do people continue to use this term?

I've heard people call everything from an AR-15 to a single shot .22lr an "assault weapon."

Assault rifle is a real word. It has meaning. It is a select fire rifle.

I just find it funny whenever a reporter calls a peashooter or a handgun an "assault weapon." The ignorance of people in general is quite interesting and vast when it comes to guns. Do people not teach their kids anything?

Ideas?

I just want to ask how many of you actually believe that drug cartels that can buy RPG's, automatic Rifles, Heavy machine guns, and grenades directly from Africa and China feel the need to go the US and get our more expensive and semi-automatic rifles?

I'm not trying to get into a political shouting match, but I'm curious how many of you actually believe it.

Basically, Obama plans on having a 1.75 trillion dollar deficit, and 1 trillion deficiet every year after that untill.. . . . 2013, in which case it will be lower to only a bit over half a trillion. That means 1.75 +1 +1+1 =4.75 trillion in debt by the time we can get this guy out of office. And all you guys though Bush was bad.

My question is, ARE YOU HAPPY YET?!!

Does anyone know of any crimes that have been committed with a .50 caliber rifle. I heard about NJ trying to ban them.

But I ask, what is the point? If no one gets hurt, why ban them? Sure they are powerful, but someone show me a gun that isn't powerful. They are suppose to be dangerous.

A Barrett sniper rifle is almost 30lbs and almost five feet long. Kind of hard for a criminal to conceal and use practically.

Just to clear up some myths, you can shoot accurately for for miles and miles. This isn't true, at least there may be only a handful of people in the world that can hit a barn at 1000 yards.

I guess I'm wondering if it is kids or you are adults who buy air guns because your government doesn't allow you to buy a real gun. Or is it for some other reason I haven't thought of.
