Here is the situation. A friend and I are opening a Bar & Grill. He is the cash investor, and I am the sweat equity partner. I will be the General Manager. The average pay for a General Manager for my experience is 50K -60 K per yr. The estimated investment is 175K. The Original plan was to pay to pay back the loan on a monthly basis. I will not receive a salary, seeing how I'm the sweat equity partner. 5K a month will go towards my partnership. I guess the question is Should there be a monthly payment? If there is a monthly payment doesn't that decrease his initial investment? What happens if there is a loss in the first month?

I am planning to open a bar and grill. So far the best spot we found is in Midtown. It's going to be a neighborhood bar/ sports bar. I'm trying to come up with a name. I want to attract the 30 something crowd. I thought of midtown tavern, big city tavern,but this seem to generic. I would like to find a name that has a Homonym( double meaning) i.e. The Pour House.(that name is already taken)

Here is the situation. I run a bar in Dallas. We had a promo on sat. nite, The reps brought out a lighted bottle holder. It was in the way most of the nite. At the end of the nite I wanted to put it in the office and it was gone. I wanted to save it for future promos. I asked my staff what happen to it and nobody knew. I asked again and they stated maybe it was the barback. I went to the office and pulled up the digital witness(cameras) I found one of the bartenders moving it. So I asked her about it and she said she moved it to clean off the bar. I looked at another camera and it shows her throwing it in the trash. The next day I called her to inform her she was going to lose (1) shift . She tells me that " I might as well get all of her shifts covered." The problem is not that she threw someting replaceable away ,the problem is that she lied to me twice in front of my staff. I also want to add that she is a valued employee. What would you do?
