  • My motorcycle will not move when I release the clutch (in friction zone) does this mean I need to apply gas?

I am new to riding, basically my instruction class taught us the heel/toe movement where you release the clutch into its friction zone and the bike moves on its own, you then engage the gas to gain speed. My bike requires that gas be applied in tandem with the clutch release (roll on/off) but only does it this way, idle will not move it when I release the clutch into the friction zone.

Is this normal? Any pointers would be well received.

  • A somewhat Disturbing trend?

Lately, I have noticed a trend in SOME of our boys in the armed forces.

Let me start by saying that I did my time in the Marines, and saw action in Desert Storm.

The trend I am talking about is the attitude / mentality of some of the guys that both are returning from 1 or many tours or the boots that aren't even in the fleet yet.

Many have an attitude of being owed something. I see many tributes to our boys and while I agree, they go above and beyond what any human should, it is of their own accord. Maybe you younger guys don't see it but surely some of the older vets are picking up on the trend that we somehow are throwing everything we can at these guys. I mean really, they aren't doing it for free, they get paid, they get discounts, they get job training and money to go to college and a paycheck to boot.

I never met anyone who joined up to serve their country and actually meant just that. There was always, I had no where else to go or money for school or to see the world attached to that statement. I don't believe that as a Marine I ever felt like i was owed something, I enlisted out of family tradition, and for the experience. I believe that the reason we revere and are so thankful to our soldiers is because we made them fight a war under false pretenses and it's the guilt of counting the daily wounded and KIA that make us feel like we need to do more, if people really cared about us both retired and active duty they would fix the disgrace known as the VA and straighten out the little mess Colonial Penn is trying to hide with the Life insurance payments they short changed hundreds if not thousands of bereaved families.

The truth is we do what we do out of guilt, and so before i finish my rant, i will say this: if you are active duty or retired, i will say thanks for following your commander in chiefs orders but most of all, I am sorry, I am sorry for not having a voice loud enough to say STOP, when our politicians were saying go, I am sorry that I wasn't important enough in the world to have stopped the machine of war and death from turning.....I am sorry.

  • So impossible or can you answer this ?

so I have 8 employees that need to cover a 27/7 schedule. Now here is the problem, no employee can work overtime (over 40 hours) in a week. So if this is impossible, how close can you get ?Can you devise a balanced (or close to) schedule? 10 pts to the best schedule, and yes, you can work more than 8 hours a day so long as the 40 hr limit is not exceeded (or kept minimal)
