i'm planning to install ubuntu on an old computer that i found in my garage. so is this enough for ubuntu(or possibly xubuntu)?

i'm gonna buy a new lcd monitor and i want one to look like an imac

i have a radeon ve, i don't know why but it seems that direct3d is disabled and i can't enable it. when i opened dxdiag.exe, it told me that directdraw is not available and i can't enable it but it can test directdraw. it's almost the same for direct3d but i can't test it. please help, i can't play my games. i tried to update the drivers but no luck. please help
