  • Names suggestions for new puppy?

Hi, I already have a dog named Hank and I've just gotten a new puppy to keep him company. I'm looking for a name that goes well with Hank. The puppy is a boy too and he is a German shepherd cross if that helps :)

Oh and I'm putting this in the baby name section because I figured this would be where the best ideas are, and my puppy is a baby too!

  • When to go back on the pill after your period?

Okay so my first time on the pill. Might be a weird question but I really have no idea a week ago I stopped taking it like I'm supposed to so I could have my period. But my period didn't start till on the 6th day off of it. Now I need to know should I go back on the pill right now on the 7th day (the end of my week off) or should I wait until my period is done? So basically wait until the menstrual cycle is over or just go back on the pill after the 7th day off of it?

  • Make me a Playlist? (New music suggestions)?

Okay so I am always looking for new music and I thought a more interesting way to do this instead of just asking for band suggestions would be to ask for playlists. Just 15-20 songs (artist included) A link for the song on YouTube (if you can). And it is 10 points for whoever suggests the songs I like best.

My kind of style of music is sort of folk, rock and indie. Here is a list of some of my favourite bands/artists:

    The Subways

    Bon Iver

    Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers

    Elvis Costello

    Yeah Yeah Yeahs

    Fleet Foxes

    Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

    Dan Mangan

    ------Thanks

  • Really scary movie suggestions?

Me and my roomie are looking for a really scary movie to watch tonight and we need some suggestions. Please don't bother with any classic scary movies like The Exorcist, Nightmare on Elm Street or Halloween because we've probably already seen them. We're looking for somethin more modern and not really a psychological thriller but just really freaky or gorey and definitely terrifying.

    Thanks

  • Do you know which movie this is?

My friend was telling me about this silly scene in a movie that he thought I might like (because I'm a wee bit of a dog fanatic) All he remembered is that the dog gets shot (or hurt in some way) and the guy takes it to the hospital but the doctor refuses to help the dog until the guy pulls a gun on him. And he was pretty sure the dog was a big slobbery type dog too. Silly I know but I need a pick me up movie and I think that would be the perfect thing for me right now.

I'll give you a list of some of the book I've read and loved just to give you more of an idea of what I'm looking for. (By the way favourite authors are Hunter S. Thompson and Jonathan Safran Foer)

    God of Small Things

    Catch-22

    A Clockwork Orange

  • Sibling name suggestions?

Okay so first off I don't have any kids and I'm not expecting Im just an ordinary name nerd.

Alright so I love the name Owen Hunter and I would like a sibling name to go with it (a boy sibling). Some names that I really like are

Noah, Toby, Thomas, Sam, Lukas, Austin, Henry, Jude

If you can give me some suggestion maybe using these names but also other names that I might like? And you don't have to use these names they can just be an example of the types of names I like. Thanks :)

  • Any idea what book I'm thinking of?

I read it ages ago and it just kind of popped into my head the other day and I'm really just curious as to what it's called. I think it's kind of a fantasy book about a girl who goes through the lost city of Atlantis maybe through a picture? I just remember there being the earthquake and she falls in love with a guy there. The one weird thing that I remember is that at one point she vomits down his back. Haha yeah that is really the only part I remember clearly and of course that is the part that has stuck with me all of these years.

Thanks if anybody can help, I know thats not much information, and I don't think it's a young adult book or anything by the way. Thanks again :)

  • Obtaining a British passport my grandmother?

My grandmother was born in Wales and immigrated to Canada 50 some years ago. I am a Canadian citizen and I am now living in London on a working visa. I would like to know if it is possible for me to get a UK passport because of my grandma. If I can, how should I go about this and what kind of papers would I need?

  • Paying for something on eBay without using my PayPal account?

So I used to always use PayPal to pay for things on eBay when I lived in Canada but now that I've moved to the UK I've been having problems. Since PayPal can't be used in the Uk I just want to pay for things using my credit debit card but the site won't let me. It always automatically goes to me PayPal account, which I don't have any money in and can't put any money in because I no longer have a Canadian bank account, only a British one. Help please, I know this is kind of confusing and I have no idea what I'm doing. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Going to school with a Working Holiday Visa?

I am currently on a Working Holiday Visa in London, England and I would really like to start my higher education now. My dream is to become a Veterinary Technician and I want to know if and how I would be able to apply for College while I am in this country on a Working Holiday. I would like to start or possibly even finish training in London. I would like to know if this is possible and how I could go about doing thins. Would I have to apply for a different sort of visa? Or is it possible for me to simply apply while still on a Working Holiday? Any advice on this subject would be very helpful.

  • New Music (Indie/Folk)?

So it's time to update my iTunes library again. Please suggest anything you think I might like and haven't heard of yet. But please please don't bother putting anything on here that doesn't go with my style because I will definitely pick a best answer and if you go suggesting something like Jonas Brothers, Linkin Park, Nickelback or Kesha...well that's just silly because now you won't get 10 points.

Here are some of my favourite bands/artists:

    Blitzen Trapper

    Franz Ferdinand

    Vampire Weekend

    Iron & Wine

    Frightened Rabbit

    Mumford & Sons

    Yeah Yeah Yeahs

    M. Ward

    She & Him

    Great Lake Swimmers

    Beirut

    Cat Power

    A Fine Frenzy

    Metric

    Fleet Foxes

    JayMay

    Neutral Milk Hotel

    Adele

...and lots more but I think you get the idea

  • Jack Kerouac fans help?

So I've just gotten into Jack Kerouac books and I've read The Road, Big Sur and The Dharma Buma. Needless to say I am in love and need more. Could you recommend which of his books I should read next? He has written so much that I just wanted some opinions from people who know his stuff and about which of his books are your favourites (aside from the ones already mentioned). Also I love non-fiction as well so if you have read something written by him that isn't a novel please tell me about that too!
