My first lesson is on symmetry. Students get cutouts of squares, rectangles, and circles. I show them how to fold it in half to find a line of symmetry. As we go through the shapes one by one they have to fold their shapes to determine how many lines of symmetry each shape has.

My second lesson is on following oral directions. Everyone gets a piece of paper and a marker. I give them very vauge directions. After they draw it I ask, "What questions did you want to ask, as we were doing this activity?" (e.g. How long shouldthe line be? Should the line be horizontal, vertical or

diagonal?)Ask, "What words or phrases could I have used to help you draw the picture more accurately?" Write suggestions on the board. Next give them clear directions & have them try again. This time their pictures should all look alike. Ask why the second set of pics looks more similar. (It's easier to get your message across if you use clear, specific,

language.)

Any topic, any age HELP

I have an interview in two days for an alternative certification program. The last interivew I had went horrible. I did a lesson on symmetry. I will have no more than five minutes to each. It can be on any subject for any grade level.

I am already decent at ddr

It doesn't hurt for long but it is a sharp pain.
