Dissolvable stitches?
Yo!
I had surgery 4 weeks ago and dissolvable stitches were used.
Does anyone know how long they take to dissolve?
I still have quite a few left in there, & i'm just feeling a little bit worried.
Thanks :o)
3 AnswersFirst Aid8 years agoBleach baths and severe eczema?
Hello folks!
My husband has been told he has severe eczema. I've been scrolling around on the internet and came across a method of treatment involving everyday household bleach.
Has anyone ever tried a "bleach bath" to help with their eczema? If so, how did it help you and how much do you put into the bathwater?
many thanks x x
4 AnswersSkin Conditions8 years agoMy manager has told me she wont allow me to have my surgery on a certain day....?
So, I received a phone call today from the hospital offering me a date for my surgery on my foot, It's about 5 weeks sooner than expected. We have a couple of members of staff off on holiday (my manager being one) at the same time as my date for surgery. My manager said she will not be changing the rota and I will have to ask for a later date for my surgery, which I class as being unfair seeing as I have waited a long time for this surgery and she knew about it as well for quite some time.
Anywho, I spoke to the woman on the other end of the phone and she said she would get the surgeon to have a look at his diary and see if there is anything for a later date, but I am feeling mad enough right now to just phone the hospital back and say "**** it, give me the sooner date!"
Should I just say to my manager "No, I'm taking the original date" or arrange a later date to suit her?
3 AnswersWomen's Health8 years agoremoval of screws after bunion surgery....?
it's been 9 weeks since having a bunion taken off and the toe straightened. They x-rayed it 4 weeks ago and I found out they used screws to hold the bone together.
They haven't told me much at all about whats gone on & I read that once everythings fully healed they take the screws out? I've got another appointment coming up soon at the hospital for a checkup, they didn't say anything about the screws being removed at my last appointment, but i've been seen by a different doctor at each of my appointments, so maybe they assumed i'd been told??
just wondering....I'm in the UK if that helps....
1 AnswerPain & Pain Management9 years agoI'm having bunion surgery tomorrow.....?
Hellooooooo!!
I'm having bunion surgery tomorrow & although i've researched & researched and asked lots of weird questions, I still feel a bit scared about having an operation. Never had one before and I'm worried about going under and how it feels waking up (actually more worried about being sick than the actual pain etc)
any advice about anything would be great!! :oD
2 AnswersPain & Pain Management9 years agoBunion Removal...............................?
Hello!!!
So i visited my GP concerning the bunions on my feet (particularly the one on my right foot) and asked to be reffered to a specialist for bunion removal. Got my appointment through. I'm 22 and was worried wether I would be considered too young to have the surgery? It would be a great relief to have them removed (due to the fact I would be able to walk properly on my feet, rather than on the side of my foot to avoid walking on the bunion and thus not having back pain anymore)
I've had them for as long as I can remember, and everyone is quick to say "you shouldn't have worn high heels and tight shoes then, should you?"
for a start: my feet are too wide to even get into tight shoes (due to the bunionage) and the same goes for high heels, the feet just wont go in them! (so there!)
Am I too young to have them removed? (i'm 22) even though they are pretty huge and have an effect on everyday life?
2 AnswersPain & Pain Management9 years agoMy partner's been asked to be a Guarantor for his sister.....?
Hello there!
My Partner has been asked by his sister to be a guarantor for her so she can get her own place for her and her three boys.
Was just doing a bit of research just now and all I can find is negative stuff about being one. We'll have our own place in a few months, therefore both our wages will just about cover rent and bills etc, so if she dosen't pay her rent one month, then my partner will have to pay it leaving us short on our rent and bills.
does anyone think it's a good idea to become a gaurantor?
thanks x
7 AnswersPersonal Finance9 years agofeeling as if i'm in a black hole I cant get out of?
I feel like i'm in a dark place at the moment, a bit like a black hole I cant get out of.
I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel, but i'm nowhere near it yet.
Feels like there is no point to anything anymore & that I wouldn't care if I didn't wake up tomorrow.
There's stuff I want to do e.g next year i'm getting married and we're planning on starting our own little family. I started making birthday cakes for people and it started off as just doing a few for people I knew, but now people I dont even know are approaching me to make cakes for them. Which is good in a way, but i've no idea how the hell I'm going to get funding to get a shop or something. Me and my partner earn enough to pay off a at least £700 a month back on a mortgage but the banks are so greedy they wont let us get a mortgage for any more then £90,000. They dont want us paying back (only as an example!!!!), say £400 a month for the next 40 years to pay off a mortgage for £190,000 because they want almost double back what they lent out.
yeah, yeah "you could split up with your partner and be left with a massive mortgage blah blah f*cking blah"
The point is, it's depressing me how someone like me and many others aren't able to go ahead with their business because of the greedy f*cking banks. We've tried everywhere and it's always "NO". It's almost as if the governments telling me what I can and cant do with my life. They raise the national minimum wage up to £6.08 an hour. They've done that just to take more tax. That extra 15p that I never see goes straight back to them, it hasn't made a flying f*ck of difference. They just take more tax an NI now. I'm probably a few quid off worse then before they put the minimum up.
Anywho, sorry to waffle on.
I've no idea how you're gonna answer that, so good luck!
(unless you have some sort of legal money making scheme lol)

4 AnswersOther - Business & Finance10 years agoInfected piercing that went just a tad overboard...........................?
I have a cartilage piercing (top of the ear) which became infected. My whole ear went bright red, swelled right up, felt hot & blisters appeared on the bottom of my ear lobe.
I made up a salt paste, applied it around the piercing and left it to dry to draw out the nasty stuff. I have been doing this every day for about a week; leaving it on all day and it seems to have worked. the swelling has gone and its not red hot anymore.
does anyone know of any other after care hints? has anyone on here ever had an infection quite like this on an ear piercing before?
I did my best to keep it clean, it was pierced for a whole month before it got infected, and was totally fine......

5 AnswersOther - Skin & Body10 years agoGender Dysphoria and if anyone has any advice?
I found out two days ago that my fiance has been wearing my clothes for the last two years. I love him and i'll support him through anything, it's just trying to convince him i'm not gonna leave him is the problem lol it's been a bit strange seeing him in womans clothes but i'm getting used to it, & i would be lying if i said it wasn't hard.
He thinks he may have Gender Dysphoria and is unsure whether or not he would go the whole route of changing permenantly in later life, but has promised to have kids with me because he wants kids too. we're getting married next september.
I just wondered if there was anyone else who was going through something similar and wether you had any advice fo us?
I dont give a **** what people think about us, they can judge all they want. If you dont like it then you know where to go and how to get there, because I love him for who he is, not what society says he should be.

7 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender10 years agoJust using water to wash hair?
I wondered if anyone on here has tried the method of just using water and not shampoo to wash their hair. I've heard that it gives really good results, but your hair is greasey for a while before it settles down. I wanna try this method, but wanna hear other peoples opinions first. does anyone know if it takes longer to settle down with really long hair? (I'm talking REALLY long hair, past your a**e hair, I've been growing it for 14 years!!)
Cheers in advance! x
12 AnswersHair1 decade agoMy Mums new boyfriend is really disrespectful....?
So heres how it goes...
My mum has been with her boyfriend now for about 4-5 months now and to start with I used to think he was a really nice person (not naming any names, we'll call him Bob)
But just the other day he was in a really foul mood, and went off on one at me calling me a wanker and a nobody blah blah etc
later on that afternoon we all got into a converstation about my relationship status. I've been with my fiance for 4 years now & we're planning all the usual stuff, you know, setting up home, having a family etc. But because Bob's first marriage failed, and my mums marriage failed, he seems to think thats how it goes for everyone that gets married. He went on to say that you cant have a successful career and get married. I feel he was basically telling me to ditch my Fiance. He then went on to insult my partner, calling him a wanker and that he's no good for me etc. Then, he went on to insult any kids we may have in the future, saying that they're going to be retarded!! I was ******* outraged. Who the hell does he think he is! He told me to sew my private parts up & I might aswell go home and have five kids etc.
I have lost all respect for him now, he treats me like a kid even though he's always commenting "your not a little kid anymore" He acts like he's my dad & has the right to give out his advice regardless of anyones feelings. I now feel as if i'm not allowed to have a partner/husband or kids or my own family home because he dosn't think it's appropriate for me. He's always telling me not to be a doormat, to stick up for myself, but it's like that rule isn't supposed apply with him.
would appriciate (cant spell lol and spell checker didn't come up!) any advice, thanks x x
