  • How does tonsillectomy compare to having wisdom teeth out?

I got my wisdom teeth out last May and am getting my tonsils out this May. The main difference for me is that my father accompanied me for getting my wisdom teeth out and did not insist on all the things that my mother is trying to insist on when she accompanies me for my tonsillectomy. I've been trying to tell her that the procedures and risks and so on are not that different and that it is not necessary to plan on spending the night right near the hospital as long as there are no complications instead of going home (an hour away, there are three hospitals but no ENTs between there and home). I do NOT want to spend the night down near the hospital if I don't absolutely have to, I would rather be home.

Have you had both procedures? Would you suggest spending the night right near the hospital or insisting that my mother is anal retentive and insisting on going home?

  • Have you ever had bone spurs?

    LOOKING FOR PERSONAL EXPERIENCES ONLY!

How did you deal with them? Did you get them removed? What was that like? I have them on the outside of my foot after tarsal coalition surgeries and they are under a lot of scar tissue. I think I will go back to the orthopedist and see about getting them removed while my insurance is still the way it is, but I'm hesitant to do more to my foot before getting some information from people who may have dealt with the problem. Any details would be appreciated. Thanks!
