Was Plato's Ideal State the first example of a Utopia?
I feel like I heard that it was but I can't remember for sure, and I don't want to put it into my speech without knowing. I've been searching but so far I can't really find anything saying that it was or it wasn't. Please and thank you!
2 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoWhat books should I read next?
I recently finished reading the Maximum Ride series (it was awesome, I can't wait for Angel to come out!) by James Patterson, The Mortal Instruments series and the Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare, and Graceling and Fire by Kristin Cashore, and I loved them all. You can go to my page to see other books that I loved 'cause if I post them here this will be way too long, haha :).
Anyway, now I'm looking for more books to read so if you could suggest some that you think I would like that would be greatly appreciated :).
3 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoWhat are your opinions on these three book series?
What did you think of:
The Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan
Maximum Ride series by James Patterson
and Gregor the Overlander series by Suzanne Collins
I really love the Harry Potter series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Hunger Games Trilogy, Graceling, The Mortal Instruments, and I could go on but I'll stop there :). So do you think I'll like them??
4 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoWhen will I be able to buy tickets for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1?
I feel like last year for HP and the Half Blood Prince I bought the tickets for the midnight premiere a couple months in advance, but fandango says that the tickets aren't available yet. So does anyone know when I'll be able to buy them??
3 AnswersMovies1 decade agoCan you please tell me what part of the Harry Potter books these quotes are from?
Okay, there are a lot, so I don't expect anyone to get ALL of them but as many as you can would be greatly appreciated. You can just give the chapter if you don't know the page number. Here are the quotes:

1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agoGood places/breeders to get a German Shepherd puppy in Northern CA?
My mom is finally letting me get a puppy :) yay! And I would very much like to get a German Shepherd. I've been looking online and I've found some pretty good websites but I'm not really sure which ones are the best and all of that stuff. SO I was wondering if any of you knew of any good places and/or breeders in Northern California to get a GS puppy. Any help is appreciated!
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoOther ways to describe a botanist?
One of the minor characters in my book is a botanist. Except, the book takes place in an alternate universe, in a fantasy, castles and knights type setting. And botanist doesn't sound very fantasy-ish.
And I can't think of any other ways to tell what she is; "The town plant-lover" doesn't exactly sound right, haha.
Any help is appreciated :).
3 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoWhich of these three names do you like best for my character?
Okay, he's 16, has dirty-blond hair, emerald green eyes, and sort of skinny. And the book takes place in an alternate universe, in a sort of Lord of the Rings type era (And no my book is nothing like LOTR). So which of these three names do you like best:
Ryder
Gavin
or Nollan?
oh and I'm thinking of making his last name Falcynn
12 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoCould you help me find the name of this song (I have some of the lyrics)?
I heard it while I was in Old Navy today and I really liked it. Here are some of the lyrics:
one of the verses goes
"You know, you put on quite a show"
and another goes
"And now, I guess I have a choice. Boys will be boys"
and the chorus is "Let's start" (something) "in love" over and over again. I looked up the lyrics on google but it was useless. Thanks in advance!
5 AnswersLyrics1 decade agoPLEASE HELP: I think I must have done something and now?
I'm not sure what I did. But I was just typing in an answer on here and then BAM! All of a sudden all of the writing became really tiny and I'm not sure how to make it go back to normal. It's really hard to read and it's getting on my nerves. Has this ever happened to anyone before? And do you know how to change it back to normal??
Please and thank you!
6 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoShould I read Pride and Prejudice?
I usually like fantasy/fiction books. But I love the movie (the newer one, with Keira Knightley), and I like romance books also. So is it a good read?
7 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoPlease help me find names for the two main characters in my book?
The book takes place in an alternate universe, in a sort of "Lord of the Rings" era (sorry that's the best way I can describe it). Anyway the first character:
She's a girl of thirteen with long brunette hair and piercing blue eyes and pale skin. She's average height and on the skinnier side, she's also a bit snarky and a really fast runner.
The second is a boy who is sixteen and has short dirty-blond hair and emerald green eyes and is on the tanner side. He's a little tall for his age and is also sort of skinny. And he likes to read and is a good sword fighter.
I'd prefer really unique names, they can be made up if you want. Or if they could mean something that'd be great also :). I've been looking through a bunch of names but can't seem to find the right ones. Thanks for you help!
8 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoWho do you think/want Katniss to end up with in Mockingjay (the third book in the Hunger Games trilogy)?
Personally, I think she'll end up with Gale. But that might just be because I WANT her to end up with Gale, haha :).

5 AnswersOther - Holidays1 decade agoCan you help me come up with a creative username? Will give best answer?

3 AnswersYouTube1 decade agoWill I lose all of my songs if I uninstall i-tunes and install it again?
Every time I try and open i-tunes a thing pops up saying: "QuickTime was not found. QuickTime is required to run i-tunes. Please uninstall i-tunes, then install i-tunes again."
So I tried just installing the QuickTime thing but it still wouldn't work and said I need to uninstall i-tunes. So if I uninstall i-tunes and install it again will I lose all of the songs I have? And if so, is there anyway to prevent this from happening?
8 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoGood movies that are similar to?
I really like the old age battle movies, like Kingdom of Heaven, 300, Troy, Gladiator, King Arthur, Braveheart, I also like fantasy, like Lord of the Rings and stuff. Anyway, you get the idea. So if you know of any really good movies that are like that I'd love to hear them :).
7 AnswersMovies1 decade agoDoes anyone else think it's completely ridiculous that people keep comparing Harry Potter and Twilight?
I mean seriously? You might as well compare My Sister's Keeper and Lord of the Rings
18 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoDo you think they should make a movie of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein?
And if so who do you think should be in the cast? I think that Michael Sheen would be a good Victor Frankenstein, and either Scarlett Johansson or Charlize Theron for Elizabeth Lavenza and I'm still trying to decide who else would be good in it...
