  • Anyone favor Ron Paul in the republican debate?

I will probably vote for a democrat but if ron paul was ever nominated I think he would get my vote. I like listening to what he has to say.

  • Would a Canon S3 be worth buying now?

Since the camera is older? I was thinking of either getting a Panasonic TZ3, a Canon 850, or the S3. I care about image quality compared to cost, I am on a budget of <350$.

I'd like to be able to just wander around the forest or whatever and take pictures. I am not really the type to just pull out a camera with my friends around and start clicking away, so size isn't too much of an issue really, but it does have it's benefits of me being more likely to take it along.

  • I need to figure out where I can go and what I should do.?

After high school I slacked off and didn't do much of anything for a couple years until I finally went to the local community college. I am graduating this semester with a fairly nice GPA (out of the 53 credits I have taken so far, they have all been solid A's besides an Art Appreciation course in which I received an A-). During high school I was far too lazy but did end up graduating with an International Baccalaureate diploma and a 1440 on the SATs the first and only time I ever took them. I have always been categorized as the lazy smart kid by my friends and over the last few years of living at home with no friends around I have maintained my reading habit.

I have absolutely no idea what I would like to major in or what type of school I could possibly get into. I would like to move on and get out of this house and make things better for myself but I have a huge problem planning and worrying about the future. Any helpful input?

  • Anyone else think superbad was amazing?

That is easily the funniest movie I have seen in years if not in my life. My friends and I were dying of laughter during so many different scenes 10/10 as far as comedies go.

  • Schenectady to Sacandaga NY?

I have been riding 30 miles a day for the past couple of weeks and this weekend I was thinking about riding up to Lake Sacandaga and then riding back home. It is just over 30 miles each way. I should be able to manage that fine right? Should I bring a back pack with some extra water bottles and a snack maybe? What time in the day should I leave (I currently leave around 3 or 4 pm to avoid the heat)?

If I manage this trip without a problem then next time I will head to lake george and so on. I just wish I had a road bike instead of a hybrid =/

  • Started to drink water?

I am pretty sure I often mistook thirst for hunger, and would eat rather than get a drink. Anyways, I started to drink a lot of water and I have to go to the bathroom constantly, like one every hour or 2. Is this a bad sign, normal, will it be like this forever?

  • Bicycling for exercise?

I fairly recently bought a hybrid Trek bike for 450, and an odometer to go with it. I started out just using it to commute during for the summer and save money on gas and such but recently I have been riding it at least 15 miles a day and so far this week I have gone over 35 miles in one sitting on two separate occasions, meaning that I have already rode 100 miles just this week.

Is this decent exercise compared to say running or swimming or something? I am fairly inactive otherwise, normally spend most nights on the computer. I am 6'1 and over 200 pounds, my arms and legs both look muscular but I definitely have some pudge covering my lower stomach (4 pack). My only exercise is normally curling free weights (30 pound dumbells) and I also have a barbell but it is only 110 pounds that I bench everyday (it was lying around in the garage). I eat like crap, normally fried foods but do you think if I start to eat better and continue riding I can shape up?

  • Americans in Sweden?

I was wondering if anyone had any experience living or going to school in sweden. I am an american who would like to go there possibly to study abroad next year. Only problem is I only go to a community college right now, although my GPA is a 3.98 and I am friendly enough with some faculty to get some recommendations. First, is it extremely difficult to study in sweden or do you think it is possible for me to make it into a school? Secondly, how expensive is it? I understand tuition is free, but at the moment I receive financial aid to go to a community college (if that tells you anything about my situation). How much US cash would I need to have saved up in order to survive there without risk of starving or going homeless?

    Thanks for the info.

  • Bagged salad?

I discovered the convenience of eating bowls of bagged salad, however is it considered healthy? What other foods would be good to supplement the salad that doesn't have to be cooked in anything bigger than a microwave or toaster oven? Does adding like ranch dressing to the salad and some croutons make it pointless?

I lift weights and ride a bike 10-15 miles a day and occassionally run, but I am fighting a losing battle against wendy's, taco bell, and my own deep frier. Losing definition so to speak, and it has to be due to my poor eating habits.

  • School in scandinavia?

I have been thinking about studying abroad next year, and scandinavia seems like a pretty nice choice. I only go to a community college atm, but this fall I will have an associates degree and as of now my GPA is 3.98. How hard is it to get into study abroad programs in scandinavia, and which country would be my best option? Also, how much cash would I need to get myself situated in another country without having to fear winding up homeless and unemployed?

  • Makeshift cap?

okay, I have a bottle of jameson's whiskey but the cap seemed to get stripped when I was trying to put it back on. The bottle is nearly full but I think my brother or someone has been sneaking drinks from it so I want to put it away somewhere without it spilling.

Is there any makeshift cap I can use? Will storing it in empty water bottles or like an old cranberry juice container ruin the flavor or anything? Already tipped it over once, so..

  • Jamesons whiskey?

Hmm, I spent 30 bucks for a liter of jamesons and I am not sure how I should go about drinking it. I typically am a vodka man, or perhaps a bit of rum here and there and always take shots- never make mixed drinks or have beer.

Since it is only a liter and it was over 10 dollars more than my smirnoff vodka 1.75, I was wondering if there was a better way to drink it. Perhaps straight at room temperature or on ice? I also have baileys and bacardi 151, any good mixes there with just those ingredients (not like irish carbombs or anything like that)

I haven't opened it yet, but I am pretty bored right now so I think I might give it a chance.

  • What else should I buy?

    So far I have-

    1.75L Smirnoff Vodka, triple distilled

    1L Jamesons irish whiskey

    1L Baileys irish cream

    1L bacardi 151

I don't "plan" on having a party or anything, but I do want a decent stock of drinks in case a few friends come over to hang out at the pool or watch some movies. And by the way, I don't have any desire buying mixed drink supplies, but I do always have soda, cranberry juice, coffee, and lemonade.

What other liquors should I buy? I don't have much money (why the hell am I wasting my little money on liquor is beyond me but whatever). I typically like to go for the midway brands, nothing fancy.

  • Anyone "embarrassed" to drink with their parents?

I have been 21 for a while now but I can't bring myself to have a drink with my mother, even though she drinks a lot and most likely knows I drink. (I have always tried to hide it, but you know how that goes)

A lot of my friends seem to be able to drink with their parents but I dont know, I am just uncomfortable about it.

  • Irish whiskey?

Is there a noticeable taste difference between say Jameson's and a whisky/bourbon from the US like JD?

I had irish car bombs with a shot of jamesons/baileys dropped into a pint of guiness and I didnt notice the taste of it- I normally am not a huge fan of whiskey (prefer clear liquor). Do you think I would enjoy jamesons more?

The thing is I am trying to stock up on a few drinks to just have on hand throughout the summer in case people come over or something, and I know whiskey is something I should get too, would jameson's suffice?

  • Was this a bad move?

Think my cousins and I may have corrupted my younger brother the other night, we decided to get him drunk for the first time and he is only 16. I personally didn't drink until after high school (loser), but all of my friends did around that age so it seemed like a decent idea at the time. He handled it well and it was fun I suppose, not to mention he probably bangs his girlfriend and crap anyway, so I guess it isn't too bad.

What do you think, 16 too young or would he do it anyway with friends? Better with family at your own house no?

  • Liquor supplies?

At the moment I have some smirnoff vodka, some bacardi 151, and some carolan's irish cream-- what else would you guys suggest buying just to have on hand in case friends come over or something? Name brands and prices appreciated.
