  • new radiator leaks at the cap?

ok let me give you guys some more details. 1986 k10 chevrolet 5.7L 4x4. I bought this truck with a blown engine, it was putting water in the oil. it had a brand new radiator & water pump on it when i bought it. replaced the engine with one i had with no problems, went ahead and used the new water pump and radiator. found that he had a bad fan clutch, replaced it. it is loosing coolant at the cap, it wont seal, used a fairly new cap that i had on hand, still leaks. it looks like the replacement radiator has a slightly larger opening where the cap seals. and everything has went to plastic tanks<sigh> is there a special cap for these aftermarket radiators? this has me stumped and i have been a mechanic for many years. nothing looks out of place except the diameter of the seal on the cap, you can see the imprint in the rubber gasket and its not covering much area to provide a good seal
