  • External HD not recognized on Mac after disconnecting it?

I disconnected my external HD from my Macbook Pro by accident as it was shutting down. Now neither my Mac or PC will recognize the drive which makes a few beeping sounds when first connected to the port. How can i get access to my data and get my computer to recognize the drive again?

  • What did you do at the turn of the Millenium?

What did you do at the turn of the Millenium if you were old enough to remember? I was in Egypt at the time and celebrated it at a New Age concert at the Pyramids. I originally didn't want to go because I thought it would be crowded (and suck) but it was pretty fun!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE0wBv6kAOI

    a clip from the concert:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GBZNl7CuS8&feature...

It actually looks clearer in video than in person. A very unusual fog rolled in that night and obscured the millenium sunrise (were the Ancient Egyptian gods not pleased?)

So where were you and what did you?

Note: after 911 it seemed much longer ago than it really is

  • Curaderm BEC5 for skin cancer - reliable producer?

Does anyone have any experience or personal knowledge (that you didn't just skim off the net) on Curaderm BEC5 - its effectiveness and reliable producers?

I've looked at one site - Bionational. Anyone know them? Is their product reliable or misleading?

    http://www.bionational.com/xcart/catalog/Curaderm-...

Please only respond if you actually have true experience and knowledge. Don't waste my time with wiki links, unrelated crap, or unsupported bull.

  • squamous cell carcinoma - fighting skin cancer?

My father was dropped a bombshell just the other day with something that makes no sense to me:

    - squamous cell carcinoma with perineural invasion -

It's bad and he's been given a short time limit. Is there anything we can do to fight this or at least stall it for a while longer? Does anyone know of anyone who has survived this form of cancer?

We don't plan to take this lightly and will pursue every chance.

Any advice and info would be greatly appreciated by those with knowledge and experience.

    Thank you!

  • Reporting asker for choosing wrong answer?

When an asker chooses an answer that in factually incorrect, should you report them? I know the asker has the right to choose an answer they think best but what if that best answer is just plain wrong? This isn't a matter of opinion but simple facts.

I saw one a year ago where the asker wanted to know who conquerored the Maya at a certain (wrong) time. Then despite the number of answerers pointing out the error in the asker's question not too mention the wrong answers of Cortez, the asker went and chose a Cortez answer with the comment - that's right! As if they knew what the heck they were even talking about!

In these cases, i don't think askers should be punished due to their ignorance but if YA answers want some form of credibility, they need to crack down on answers that are just blatantly inaccurate.

So should or can askers be reported for choosing inaccurate answers?

  • What to do with a persistent psycho spammer/stalker?

Some of you may have seen my handle and avatar being used to post an offensive unfunny video mocking the Virginia Tech tragedy. This is not me but some sicko who pretended to be the father of one of the victims at first posting the same video in questions and answers in a number of categories - ie spamming. I called him out on several of his threads to warn people not to fall for his scam and now he's imitating me posting the same crap. He's an immature twisted little sicko and I don't know why Yahoo hasn't banned his butt for spamming and turned over his ISP to the cops.

What to do? I've got this schizo sicko using my handle name and avatar posting this crap plus he's posting abusive comments on my Youtube videos.

He's been posting here as samurai_dave, ronindave (my youtube handle), bignastytruckdriver, father_in_mourning, and hotdogvendor and god knows what else.

What can be done about this? Has he pushed things too far to warrant investigation into his sanity?

  • Capitalizing on tragedy - why?

Why do you think certain kinds of people feel it necessary to capitalize on tragedies such as VT in order leap up on a soapbox and air their socio-political views that sometimes are barely even related to the tragedy?

Debate is one thing but these types seem less interest in debate and more interest in promoting their socio-political views.

Already we've seen close to a dozen posts about the worth of American lives as opposed to others (even though international students were victims as well). I've seen this type of comment over and over after 911 and Katrina. This is nothing new or thought-provoking and yet these comments get thrown out time and time again.

Also people are using VT to launch into tirades about Iraq, America, South Korea, racism, guns, liberals-conservatives, etc...

Why? Is it just for the sick fun of verbally assaulting people when they're vulnerable? Is it just for the attention they'll get?
