  • Any Aspies out there? I have a son, 14, with Asperger's syndrome.?

    My son was diagnosed at 10, although I knew when he was much younger that something was different about him. He is so smart and can memorize anything that he reads. He was reading college level in the 7th grade. He is in advanced placement in several of his classes.

    He gets A's and B's without ever studying, and yet he can't talk on the phone to someone or just have a nice conversation exchanging pleasentries. People that don't know him think that he is rude, but that's not it. He doesn't "get it" when it comes to social issues and "proper" behavior.

    Any other Aspies or Aspie Moms? Was your biggest fear that people would not understand your Aspie?
