  • How does a bill in Congress get passed?

I'm confused on this Health Care Reform bill. The house writes their own version, as well as the Senate? That is how the media is portraying it. Then what? How does an overall plan get passed? Seems like they waste a lot of time writing their own plans. Why not write one and vote on it?

  • Obama taking too long on decision on Afghanistan?

Do you think Obama has taken too long on making his decision on whether or not to send more troops to Afghanistan or not? I feel he is leaving our military men and woman hanging out there and everyday we are losing more and more of our soldiers.

  • Is this legal for the employer to do this?

My cousin is American married to a Canadian. A US employer has employed him here in US as a sub-contractor but pays by check written out to his wife. I am worried if this is legal and if she/they can get in trouble.

  • What would you do? Move back or stay?

We moved to another state a little over 18 months ago because we love the location all there is to do here. We had our house for sale and ended up having to rent it out after nine month of no offers and major reduction of price. The job I have in the new state if falling apart as the owner/management have only a care for what they make and not a care for their employees or the lack of hours their employees are getting. We love where we are living but jobs are not plentiful or make what I make hourly right now - of course the lack of hours is not helping. I have the opportunity to go back to my old job. We just hate leaving this beautiful area. What would you do?

  • Where are Obama's parents?

I have yet to hear anything about them.

  • What is it exactly that makes you want to vote for Obama?

From everything I am reading... its more taxes, higher electric fees, more of our tax money going to those who have not earned and are here illegally and many other higher costs. I mean if you were hiring some one to the CEO of your company.... what qualifications would you want? I know it would be someone that has more than 3 yrs of working for my company.

  • How to start a short sale on real estate property?

My husband and I moved to make better money in another state. We bought a second home (mistake #1). Husband's hours have slightly dropped due to the economy. On the 2nd home we have PMI. We have listed our 1st home for sale for almost a year with no offers. We have dropped the price to the lowest we can go to pay off the mortgage. Still no buyers. We finally decided to rent it out. We could not rent it out for the amount of the mortgage as other rented properties didn't compare. So we pay $750 each month to make up the difference. We are so strapped in mortgages and we cannot seem to sell the one back home we are considering a short sale. Where do I start? Should I get a real estate attorney first or contact the lender myself? I am open to any suggestions. Have even considered selling the 2nd home.

  • Why do I keep having these dreams?

I was in a verbally abusive relationship for about 2 yrs. It got to the point where this man actually scared me and I was afraid of what he would do. I ended it once I found out that he had been seeing someone else. I went through 10 months of his continuing attempts to contact me. I moved, I bought a different car, I changed jobs because he kept contacting me at work via my work phone and I was too embarrassed to get my manager involved to stop it. I started dating very soon after and I now know that it was to forget him. Fortunately for me that relationship has latest and a whole new life has evolved. But I still have dreams of my ex and not good ones .... I thought moving out of the area my ex and I had lived in would help... but it doesn't seem like it has. Why is this still occurring???

  • Should I just let it go??

My sister and I had a falling out over something stupid - my husband had been away for a couple of month due to a new job where we were relocating to and we then had a 9 month old and I was had a bad day dealing with the baby and she basically said I have nothing to gripe about and she got frustrated with me and hung up on me. Then she sends me an email that said all I do is take the baby to a sitter, which is was about 1x a week so I could get school work done as I was taking a couple of college classes. So of course I send her an email back and voiced my opinions about that and her life that I had held back for years - which I know she took the wrong way and now she won't speak to me. We both said some things that may have offended the other but we are all that is left in our family. I've tried to make amends via mail because we live 3000 miles apart. I've send pics of the baby, flowers for her b-day, etc. Should I give up?

  • Is it worth changing real estate agent?

I've had my home on the market for almost 9 months with about 6 people looking at it. My agent says their office wants its agents to focus mainly on advertising on the net and not in print. I want both. I mean what do we pay these agents for... limited advertising? My question is... should I change? I have another 3 months left on the contract and I'm sure he would agree to release me if I wasn't happy with their services. I'm just not sure if another agent can do better, even if they did advertise in the paper and net.

  • Did I make the right decision?

I have a 12 month old and decided to go back to work. It was a sales job where I was paid a small hourly rate, plus 4% commission on all sales. I had to work every weekend, I had to get up a bit past 5am get myself ready, then the baby, drop him off @ daycare, then drive 1 hr or slightly more depending on traffic then get home around 5pm. I would get one definite customer, maybe 2, other wise the rest of the time I was sitting around. But...if I made a sale it could be as little as $150 to $1500. I made one while I was there, but some people have been there over 4 wks and havent made any. I was sitting around so much I figured my time with my child/family is worth more than this. They say you sell 2 out of every ten. They said it will pick up to where you may have 3 customers per day. The job you ask... selling timeshares. Some people are making 40-60K but not many I can assure you. Stupid ? --- did I do the right thing?

  • 1 yr. old sleeping and eating patterns?

My 1 yr. old is sleeping a lot. Goes to bed at 7:30 and will sleep until 9, then will take a 2 hr. nap during the day. I know that babies sleep a lot, but this seems like an awful lot. Plus, his appetite has changed. He is getting really finicky about food and not eating as much. He doesn't have a cold or anything... is this normal?

  • What do you do when you have problems with mother of son's wife?

My son recently returned from Iraq. I live in another state and decided to make a trip to see him 4 days after he returned. He and his wife were glad that I was coming and didn't have a problem with it. I didn't stay with them - just went over everyday and stayed until dinner. Since my daughter in law was at work, it was just my son and I hanging out together. Initially, he was a little quiet at first, then on my last day there I was told that his mother-in-law had a problem with me being there to see him and I would probably get an email from her (she lives about 25 miles from them). Then she called me and slammed me for being there saying they needed couple time. I basically told her to mind her own business and as long as the kids were ok with it - thats all that mattered. She keeps harassing them with phone calls about this. I stayed to see other people for a few more days and then she even called me on my last day and left messages about stuff that happened over a yr. ago

  • Sell or Lease it?

I'm trying to sell a house because of a job change to another state. I've already moved and purchased another house. The 1st house has been on the market for 6 months. Should I continue to list it or consider leasing it out until the economy and real estate market get back on course?

  • My older sister and I are on the outs. How do you fix it?

We had a disagreement over something the simple fact that I felt that I was having a bad day and she came up with this stupid analogy and I was like... what? what does that have to do with this?? She said I needed to be on a antidepressant... I told her its a bad day... it will pass... no big deal. People have them. I wasn't freaking out or anything ... good grief. I told her as usual, I don't agree with her. She got an attitude and hung up on me. Then she sends me this nasty letter and I sent her one back. Its been two months now. I do miss her but she is a little miss know it all... she never shows me any sympathy... and she brings up things from the past that I prefer to stay in the past. She thinks she is helping people when she offers them all this advance. I heard she was in the hospital a few weeks ago and I sent flowers. She sent me a text saying thank you but that was it. I was hoping we could fix this. That was my olive branch... any suggestions?
