I'm writing a story and I just need a girl's name that goes well with the surname 'Linson', which I've chosen because it's a family member's name and I think it's really uncommon. The character is small, has shoulder-length ash blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, if that helps :)

I've had to write a mono tetra for my creative writing course homework. I was wondering if this sounds ok?

I have three plots in my head, and can't decide which one to start on first? Feel free to suggest anything:

-Fantasy

In the future, children are taken from their parents and tested on, their DNA changed. They are forced to live in a building cut off from the rest of the world, isolated from everything. One day ten random children are selected and tested with something new. They are injected with a special substance that give them special powers(cliche, I know) and then forced into a testing area to be surveyed. But they start to argue and those powers are used to destroy one another. Eventually, someone works out that they should use the powers against the scientists, not each other. So they do.

-Horror

A reporter is sent to investigate strange cases about a haunted hotel. He stays there for a night, in room 666(haha:D). But after he filed the report and broadcasts it live, strange things start happening. Like at first, he hears strange things, but thinks nothing of it. Then, he starts seeing things, and reliving the night in the hotel. What is the mystery surrounding the reporter, and room 666?

-Romance

A girl is found on the beach,and sent into the care of a doctor. The doctor nurses her back to health, but she has a case of amnesia and can't remember who she is. So, although the doctor knows her identity, he creates an entirely knew one and convinces the girl that is her real identity. The truth is, all his life the doctor has been very lonely, and isn't liked by any of the girls. So, this opputunity is perfect: he can create the woman of his dreams. But then he starts to feel sorry for her, and slowly reveals the truth. Troubles arise, and a loss of trust, and you get the point. :)

So those are the 3 I've been thinking about-which one sounds the best out of these? If any part sounds bad, or too cliched, let me know. :)

I'm wanting to start my own story, something bigger than my previous ones of around 40 pages, preferably fantasy or mystery. How did you all come up with the basics plots, etc? What were your sources of inspiration(s)? And do you have any tips that could start me off? Cheers :)

I'm writing a story, and in it someone gets hanged. But I don't know what the official name for where someone gets hanged is. Can anyone help?
