  • Why is my pond so green??

    I have a 50-gallon pond with some goldfish, and a few weeks ago (when the cold weather finally broke) it turned extremely green. I've been doing 1/3 water changes frequently and I've rinsed / changed the filter media.

    I took a sample to the pond shop and they didn't find a problem, but recommended plants, so I just put in a few water hyacinths. Any other suggestions?

  • Tipping for quick trim?

    When I get my hair cut, I tip my stylist pretty well. In between cuts, she lets me pop in for a quick trimming of the bangs.

    My husband asked me if I tip her when she trims, and it honestly never occurred to me because I'm in and out in five minutes. She's never acted as though I'm shortchanging her. Should I tip for the quick trim, or just continue making the bigger tip with the cut? Thanks!
