I have a male friend who was once my boyfriend. No not a friend with benefits. He is just a companion/friend now. I have known him for 15 years. He has always been controlling and at times downright mean and rude to me, it's the reason he is no longer my boyfriend. But I keep him around becasue I am a caretaker of my disabled mother and he helps me take her to doctors appointments and sometimes with lifting her into her wheelchair. I have a herniated disc in my back and when it flares up I can't do it alone. Right now I can only afford one hour of a home health aide each day so it's pretty hard.

Well anyway here is the thing that happened today. I am in the house every day, I only go to the pharmacy, food shopping or to church. I have been caring for her full time for the last six years. When I can go to church I feel some peace and just a place I feel safe and can gain strength. I went today and there was a funeral so the church lot was full. I ended up parking a block away on the street. The weekly mass is only a half hour so I wasn't long at all. When I got back to my car the whole driver side was smashed in! It was freezing cold and I was not dressed to be outside for any long period of time. I called the police, they came made out report. Tow truck came and took car to body shop. I needed to get home. I called him and he was at work. He works for himself as a painter. When I got through to him he yelled and screamed at me that I think he can just drop everything for me. He said he would come in an hour. So I waited. After about 45 minutes I called to see where he was. He said I am on the highway. I said what city? He said what difference does it make what city? I said I 'm trying to figure how far away you are. He hangs up. Shows up 20 minutes later and as soon as I get in the car he is swearing and yelling I lost money becasue of you!!! Then he starts punching things in the car and he runs a red light!!!!! I was petrified . As soon as I got to my house I jumped out of the car and ran in. He then comes to the door pounding on it and when I opened it he asks if everything is ok? I can't handle it. He is like this all the time. He's always vague about where he is. I never get straight anwsers, when he gets angry he will say he won't help me take my mother to an appointment even if he already promised. I am at wits end. I NEED him to help me but I can't deal with his treatment of me. Any suggestions? I know what you are going to say but please rmember I have no one to help me, and sometimes you settle just becasue you are stuck.
