  • Pregnant, early miscarriage, and pregnant again while thinking its the same pregnancy?

My LMP was 11/19/2014 and I was given a due date of 08/26/2015. My first ultrasound was at 6 weeks and showed a yolk sac (no heartbeat) but I was told everything looked normal And they estimated I was 5-6 weeks. At 9 week appt we tried to find heartbeat with doppler but not luck. Again I was told that's normal. At 11 weeks I started cramping and went to be checked. They said cervix looked good but wanted an ultrasound and hcg checked to check things. My ultrasound showed a 5 week yolk sac ( no heartbeat) but my hcg levels were still in the 17000's. They first told me it was a miscarrage and I was told to schedule a d&c. When I spoke to the gyn dr she encouraged me to get another ultrasound in 11 days to see if its possible that I miscarried the first baby around the time of the first ultrasound(I had some very light bleeding around that time but no pain/cramping) and I got pregnant again right away and this is a new pregnancy. My question is has anyone heard of this happneing or had it happed to them? I'm really nervous but alittle excited even though its only a tiny chance.

  • Delayed 3 month old.?

My son was born 5 weeks eary and a 24 day NICU stay followed by another 2 week hospital stay with a major surgery. He is now 3 months old and will not focus on anything other than lightsand won't track anything. He doesn't reach for his toys but will hold them for a short period of time if they are put in his hands. He will smile in his sleep but will not smile oe laugh at anything. I have mentioned this to his doctor but he only said he isn't concerned until 4 months. If at 4 months he is still unresponsive he wants to send us to an eye doctor. Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

  • Lobectomy or other lung surgeries?

My son was born at 35 weeks and is now 3 weeks old. When he was born he had difficulties breathing and had to have a ventilator then CPAP and finally room air. While be was on the CPAP he developed a pnemothorax and and also required a dose of surfactant. He's breathing better now but still pulling alittle hard so they did several chest xrays to check his lungs and then a CT scan to get a better look. He's been diagnosed with congenital lobar emphysema and they have decided that he will require surgery sometime in the first year(likely the first 3-6 months) to remove the upper affected lobe. They have mentioned if his stats look worse they will do the surgery immdiately. He is also having trouble eating his whole feed from the bottle so has a feeding tube through his nose. They have mentioned doing a surgery to install a G tube but arent positive about it at the time. Has anyone had experience with lung surgeries? I haven't been albe to talk to the surgeon just my sons doctor so I have no idea what to really expect with the procedure or recovery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
