Here's the situation.

My wife and I live with my brother and his fiance. They live upstairs. We live in the basement. The current wireless router is upstairs and, needless to say, the Wi-Fi signal in the basement kind of sucks. I still have my old Linksys Wireless-G Cable Gateway that would solve my dilemma. However, even if I were to use it solely as a router, I have no means to run an ethernet cable down here to use it as a router. I considered going through Comcast for a second IP address, but they wanted to charge me $80 a month, which I adamantly refused to pay. Had the price been more reasonable (considering I was using my own equipment), I would have considered it.

So now...what can I do? Is there an option I haven't tried so that I can get my modem/router up and running? I'm concerned that we're also overworking the current router with all of the devices in the house that are running Wi-Fi (2 PS3s, a 360, a Wii, 2 iPhones, 2 Android phones, 2 3DSs, 4 laptops, and 3 Roku players), so not only will this alleviate my problems, but would add a stronger signal to go around for all of the devices the four of us have.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I've got an 80GB iPod Classic. I was going to add some songs to it today, and iTunes said my iPod could be synced because of an unknown error (-48).

I'm running the current iPod OS (1.1.2), and the current version of iTunes (9.1.1).

Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?
