PC setup problem?
Okay, let me get straight to the point. I bought some parts to make my own desktop computer. Everything fits in it EXCEPT for my graphics card. And by "doesn't fit in", I mean it fits in the case, but doesn't fit into the motherboard's PCIE slot as long as the motherboard is in the case.(In other words, it fits, but the PCIE slot is too close to the back of my case for the graphics card.PCpartpicker.com said there'd be no compatibility issues.) Any suggestions? Is it because I've chosen the wrong motherboard? Or possibly because the case is too small?
Motherboard: Asrock 970 Performance.
Case: RaidMax Hurricane (mid-size ATX tower)
Graphics card: R9 270 (Gigabyte)
5 AnswersDesktops6 years agoRequesting a PC build.?
So, I've decided to build my own desktop, and this is my first time doing so. I can't build an expensive one ($1000? NOPE!) and am undecided on whether I want overclocking capabilities. I need suggestions for a case, power supply, motherboard, optical drive, memory, and video card. My processor of choice is an AMD FX-8320. Still deciding on an OS, too. This PC will be used mainly for emulators, specifically PS2 and gamecube.
If you could, please include the price of each item. If you can include a link or something like "@Newegg, @Amazon, or @Ebay", that'd be fantastic. Ideally, I'd like suggestions for a video card that's between 1~3 GBs. My budget is roughly around 200~400 more dollars. Just trying to get the most bang for my buck without going broke and would prefer to go under than over.
Parts currently available: Western Digital HDD 1 TB, SATA 32 MB cache. (Unknown RPM)
Seagate Barracuda 500 GB HDD (unknown cache) 7200 RPM.
AMD FX-8320 processor.
Not sure whether I should use the hard drives for this desktop or convert them into external hard drives.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
1 AnswerDesktops6 years agoMotherboards?
Okay, so in my desktop, I currently have an Acer motherboard with an Intel Celeron processor, (1.99>2.49 Ghz, DBSUL11.001) and I'm deciding whether I want to replace it, since I lack the funds to build my own. If I do replace it, how will I go about finding one that is compatible with my particular desktop? And... does that mean I will ONLY be able to use Intel components? I can't use a full sized motherboard, since my desktop is one of the smaller ones. (Acer Aspire X series, AXC-603-UW13) Thanks in advance!
2 AnswersDesktops6 years agoIs this a deal breaker to you? Dating a person with a child?
Personally, the only reasons I wouldn't date a woman with a child is because... You don't have the ability to discipline the kid if they do something wrong. If they smashed your TV screen in and you were SUPER PISSED, you couldn't do a thing! Also... baby daddy drama.
Alright, so this is the 1st question I've ever asked, but I'm curious as to what people think about this particular subject. Is dating a man or a woman with a child a deal breaker to you? Are you cool with it? Or does such a thing make you CRINGE? C'mon, people!! Let's hear those reasons and opinions!
