  • 2 1/2 year old bed time & middle of the night severe temper tantrums HELP!!?

    PLEASE help!

Our 2 ½ year old daughter has recently begun throwing severe temper tantrums at bed time and also when she wakes up in the middle of the night. We have a solid routine that we follow. When it is bed time – we say “its bedtime” and she goes running into bed. We give kisses & hugs, and then its lights out. That’s when the trouble starts. She starts screaming at the top of her lungs kicking, constantly getting out of bed. It last for 2 + hours.

We have tried putting her back in bed, not saying anything to her, we’ve tried talking to her asking her “what’s wrong” – to which she just say’s “No” angrily, over & over. We have also tried a night light, and staying in the room till she falls asleep. Nothing has worked or alleviated the situation. It’s even worse when she wakes up at 3 AM, which she started doing about a week ago.

Please help. Any advice? We are at our wits end.

  • 2 year old girl potty training advice?

Our daughter started showing signs that she was really interested in the potty (pulling down her pants, taking off her diaper, telling us "I pooped" or "I pottied.") So, about 2 weeks ago, we did the naked weekend with our 2 year old daughter, after a friend highly recomended it. We took her every 20 minutes for 2 days. She never pottied in the toilet and we had a ton of accidents. After about 1/2 a day of this, she would get bored of sitting on the potty and began to fight us on it. At first we used the big potty in the bathroom and then I even tried getting her own little potty and letting her watch a Dora movie to keep her interest.

At daycare, she uses pullups, which they require, even though I disagree with using them becuase I hear it only prolongs potty training. They take her every hour, but no potty successes there either. When she gets home, she is very anxious to sit on her potty so she can watch her movie (she now thinks that if Dora is on, she has to sit on the potty), but she never potties in the potty.

PLEASE help. What should I do? I am desprately trying to get her fully potty trained before August, since our 2nd baby is due late August. Any advice?

  • Did you know you can ask Disney for their recipes?

Just learned an awesome tip today for all you Disney fans out there! Did you know that when you dine at one of the Disney resturants, you can ask your waiter for the recipe? You can! Many of the standards are already pre-printed on cards to hand out whenever someone requests them - but you MUST ASK for it. If you ask for a recipe that is not immediately handy, they take your email or mailing address and the chef will get it to you. My mother in-law has gotten many recipes from them this way! Oh the possibilities!!

  • Potties & Seats for Toilet Training?

Can anyone recommend a toilet or potty seat for toilet training a 2 year old girl both at home and what about travel potties & seats as well?

Also, I have heard some people say to use the regular toilet only with a potty seat - its supposedly more motivation to them since they see you using it. Has anyone tried that and can you recommend it?

  • Tranistioning to table food advise?

Need advise on transitioning my 9 month old to table food. She is on pureed baby food now. She likes chewing the gerber yogurt bites, but when I give her other "mashed" foods such as mashed spaghetti, mashed veggies, she spits it back out. How did you make the transition from pureed baby food to table food?

  • What Car should we buy?

We are trying to decide what car to buy. We have an infant plus 2 dogs (one large dog and one small) and make 3-4 trips a year that are 6 hours long (one way). So we want something that is roomy & has good storage, but gets good gas mileage.

    We are considering:

    Mazda CX9

    Nissan Pathfinder

    Honda Odyssey

We really like the GMC Acadia, but do not want to buy a GMC. Also we have looked at the Toyota Highlander & Hyundai Santa Fe, but both find them to be stupid designs considering the no/very limited access to the 3rd row.

My husband likes the Odyssey (feels its the better buy) but I don't think we need quite that much room for just day to day use.

    Thoughts/Suggestions?

  • Traveling with Homemade baby food?

I am making my own baby food and really don’t want to use the store-bought kinds (I personally find it disgusting). My problem is that you can't jar or can your own baby food due to bacteria reasons. Storage wise the only option is freezing.

Moms who make your own baby food - how do you travel with your own baby food? Options for when you go on vacation (other than the nasty store stuff)?

  • Convertible Car Seats Recomendation?

Need to get a covertible car seat for our 4 month old. She is in the 95th percentile for growth and is only 3 inches away from growing out of her infant carrier (length wise).

We are looking at the 3 car seats that consumer's rated:

    Evenflo Triumph (overall score 81)

    Britax Roundabout (overall score 81)

    Britax Marathon (overall score 58)

I don't like the lower score of the Britax Marathon, but it is the taller of the two Britax car seats. Consumer's didn't like the infant latch system on the Marathon.

My fear is that with her being tall, she will grow out of the Britax Roundabout before she turns 2, since it is the shorter version.

Please help. Does anyone have any recomendations that has a taller baby?

  • Has anyone ever taken Lamisil tablets for Toe nail fungus?

My doctor is about to prescribe me lamisil tablets for my toe nail fungus. I know it can cause liver damage and they said that's why they monitor your blood work every month. I am still scared to take it.

    Has anyone ever taken it?

    How did it work?

Did you have any side effects?

Did it clear up your infection?
