  • Rescued Lab Training Problems?

I rescued a 2 yr old lab. Mistreated, denied attention, never played with, etc.. I've had him for a year.

Every time I train one thing out of him, another crops up. He had never been in a house. He's house trained now, and behaves well inside. However, he won't let me be alpha. I initially let him on the bed, but was advised I had to kick him off. I did. That kicked off some weird behaviors.

First, he gets excited to the point of lunacy when the other dog whines to go out. He gets so out of control, he's started biting me, serious biting, arms, hands, anything he can make contact with. I've been to the doctor twice. Calm voice doesn't work, nor spray bottle, etc.. He was attacking the other dog, but stopped in favor of biting me.

He's started urinating if a man comes to the house.

Lastly, he won't stay off of me. He wants constant attention and won't stay down. Help, I can't handle much more, and with the biting, I can't surrender him, he'd be put down.

  • Recommendation of brand for reliable video card, 256mb?

My GeForce FX5500 (256mb) has a dead fan, so now I'm paranoid about replacing it and getting another video card that will have a fan failure, which seems to be more common than I like from the reading I've done on the cards. I'd like to hear from people that have a reliable 256 mb card. I don't game, so I don't need top of the line. PCI or AGP, either is fine. Seems ATI has good ratings. Opinions please? Thanks in advance!

  • My dog passed away yesterday, and he had post death convulsions. Someone please explain what happened.?

Rooney, my dear dog of 10 years was diagnosed with cancer Sunday. The vet said it was in his liver, spleen, lungs, and intestines. He only started acting odd on Friday, just not eating.

Rooney died Monday morning, and I was with him. What is bothering as much as his death is what happened. He wanted to be next to me on the bed. He put his head next to mine, and we were like that maybe 4 minutes before he kind of gasped and stopped breathing. There was no heartbeat that I could detect. Then about 15 seconds later he convulsed 4 times and then blood started coming out his ear and mouth.

Was the convulsing reflex? What about the bleeding? I want to know what was happening to him. This dog was like family to me. I really don't understand how something like this can happen in 3 days. I'm grateful he didn't suffer & that he wanted to be with me when he died. But I want to understand what happened after I thought he was gone. Thank you in advance for your help.
