  • It is possible for people to leech off a wireless router if you never established a network?

I don't know how our router was set up- someone else in the house did it. All I know is when they purchased the router, they couldn't get one that *wasn't* wireless, so we got one that at least could still connect through wires. We just got it to connect our xbox, and apparently they just plugged it in. It works, but barely, and we get kicked offline on the computer and the xbox a lot more than we used to. Is it possible someone is leeching off our connection even though we never set up the router to make wireless connections?

  • How easy is this to prove?

We got in an accident yesterday. We were traveling northbound approaching an intersection as the light turned yellow. We went through the light, since it was short notice to stop. At the same time, the woman in the opposing left turn lane assumed we were going to stop and started to turn left. We hit each other's passenger side front. Our insurance company has said, even if we had ran the red light (which we didn't), she would still be at fault for failure to yield, or more plainly, that the person turning left is always at fault. For that reason, we're hoping to use her insurance to fix our car, but they haven't gotten back to us about it yet. My question is, how clear cut is this? We're afraid she might dispute it, though in the end she really is still at fault. It didn't help that the officer didn't ticket her (thus not taking sides on the debate). It was our only car and its not drivable now. I know if she disputes it, it will take longer to get our car fixed and get a rental for the mean time. has this happened to anyone else?

  • Smells like teen spirit?

Weird question: anybody remember Teen Spirit's heyday (the deodorant, that is)? I used to wear this one scent that's been discontinued now. I think it had Rose in the name somewhere. If I knew the name exactly, I could find more info on it maybe. Best smelling deodorant I've ever used. Kind of sad it was discontinued, wish they'd bring it back :/

  • Dodge stratus, o2 sensor dilemma.?

So I need to replace one of my front upstream o2 sensors on my 2005 dodge stratus. I bought the appropriate part at pep boys figuring it would be easy to replace myself; only to find that the module does not connect properly only slightly different. but also notice that the rear o2 sensor module would fit just right. Would it be a problem to use a sensor on the front that was intended to go after the the cat converter. what is the difference anyway?

  • Quick fix for glasses with a broken arm?

I need my glasses, and I can't get them repaired right away. They broke just after the screw on the arm in an inconveniently thin spot. Basically, I can't simply glue or tape it back together because there is no way to support the pieces in the correct position. The area is too close to the lens to splint it for support. Any suggestions on how to make the arm stick in the right position?

  • What bird is famous for stealing things?

It's on the tip of my tongue... What bird is famous for stealing random objects... I think supposedly to build its nest? It's also a name given to a person who does basically the same thing- stealing seemingly worthless things...

  • Am I the only one who's fine?

Honestly, I can feel concerned with world issues, and I think about it a lot, but at the end of the day, I'm fairly pleased with my life. I'm not rich or beautiful or successful, but I'm happy. No, I'm not on drugs, just happy. Sometimes, all I hear are complaints, and it gets hard to believe anyone appreciates their lives anymore. Am I the only one who is grateful for what they have? Seriously, weigh in on the subject.

Worth noting: literally, I am not financially successful. Also, I am an atheist, so faith in a god is not what makes me happy. I'm just glad to be alive... anyone else?

  • Never had puffy eyes?

Just a curiosity question. I come across a lot of beauty tips for dealing with puffy eyes or dark circles. I've never had either, and I'm in the second half of my twenties now (so genetic predisposition is out, but age related isn't yet on the table). I'm just wondering how common they really are. Does this happen to most people, or is it just problematic enough to spawn a bunch of advice columns, or what?

  • Home made beer made me sick?

I had two of my friends' home made beers on Sunday night and had excruciating stomach cramps the next morning. I thought it was food poisoning, but couldn't think of anything I had eaten that my husband hadn't, but he was fine. Then, Thursday night, I had another of these beers and immediately started getting the cramps again. My husband, and the friend, and the friend's wife can drink these beers and feel fine. I'm thinking it was some bacteria in the beer I had never encountered that I developed an allergy to (they were newly brewed beer). My question has two parts. I want to know if anyone else has experienced this, and I also want to know if this is going to happen every time I have home made beer, or was it more likely just this batch?

  • Military Housing in San Diego?

My husband will be E4 in the Navy and we're thinking about military housing when we're stationed in San Diego (Point Loma). I have no idea how the whole thing works (he's re-enlisting after discharge years before I met him). How nice is the housing, and how free are you to actually live there? Can you garden, re-decorate, etc. or is it more like apartment rules?

  • 2 Year old impossible to wake up.?

When my two year old daughter goes down for nap time, she simply doesn't wake up on her own, and I have tried everything to wake her up. Shouting her name, sitting her up, trying to give her some cold juice, countless things. Today, I sat her up trying to wake her up and she started screaming and yelling "bad" at me, then fell back asleep. If she doesn't take a nap, she's a perfectly happy girl all the way to her bed time, but if she falls asleep in the day, she won't wake up. As I'm typing this, she's been asleep since 6:30. Her usual bedtime's at 11 (her dad works swing shift and we all go to bed late). Has this happened to anyone else? Should I be taking her to a doctor over this, or should I just let her sleep, or what?

  • Show on adult swim?

Can't remember this show- an adult swim show where the main character was some sort of supernatural creature whose legs worked backward (that is, he stood upright but had the back legs of a horse or similar animal). I saw one episode where he made it rain blood on some midwestern (american) town. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

  • Children's books?

I'm trying to remember the names of a couple books, please answer if these sound familiar. One is set in a city, and it's a little... girl... I think... walking somewhere, but the illustrations have somewhat hidden images of wild creatures hiding in everyday things. The other book I'm thinking of is a story about the weather suddenly dropping food on a small town. The third is a collection of stories about mermaids. The first story has a Cinderella type girl getting a gift of a star on her forehead from a trio of mermaids, and her stepsisters getting donkey's tails. Any of these sound familiar?
