  • Life Advice?

First off, I’m not one to ask for help so this is way out of my comfort zone. I’m 17 years old and I’ve been trying to meet new people online to become friends with. I have met a lot of cool people, but sometimes I can catch super strong feelings for a girl in as soon as a week. Unfortunately, nothing has come of anything yet, and I’m now either friends with or not talking to them at all.  I feel like I might not be ready for a relationship but I feel like I need that feeling of acceptance and love. I have a great family but this feels different to me. If anyone could give me advice I would really appreciate it

Why does my platy look like this?

Hello! I noticed my new platy is a little chunky. I did some research and I’m wondering is it’s possible that she’s pregnant? I don’t have any other platys of her type in the tank, so I think that if she IS pregnant, it happened at the fish store. I didn’t notice it when I got her, but did after a little while (maybe about a week). I’ve had her for about 1.5-2 weeks now. Is this just how she is shaped or is she in the earlier stages of pregnancy? Thanks!

  • Should I get a snake?

I’m terrified of snakes, but I also find them really fascinating. I’ve always thought having one would be cool, but I doubt getting one despite my fear is bad. I’ve heard it can sometimes be good to get an “insert pet here” in order to conquer a fear of it. I realize it is probably a bad idea, but I’d like to hear other people’s thoughts! I love watching videos on snakes but when I get close to snakes (especially small and fast ones), I get scared. Maybe with some hands on experience I could be ready to get one? I think I’d actually be more comfortable with a larger snake rather than a small and quick one. Thanks for reading and I will read every answer!

  • Chances of Cancer?

3 of my grandparents have died from some type of cancer (skin cancer, breast cancer, and prostate cancer) before I was even born. My last grandparent left does not have cancer. I’m curious, what are the chances that my parents will have cancer, or my sister or I? I’m sure it’s hereditary and depends on genes, but is there any way that someone can determine this?

More info: my moms parents are the ones with breast and prostate cancer. My dads dad died from skin cancer. It’s his mom that is just fine.

  • Should I go to the doctor?

Back in October or November of last year I hurt my knee while playing with a boy I was babysitting. I don’t know when the injury happened, but it started hurting after right on the inside of my right knee. We didn’t go to the doctor since I tend to think I’m hurt more than I actually am. However, SOMETIMES when I walked I would feel a sharp stabbing pain in that same area. Since then, it’s been decent besides the occasional pain or odd feeling. I can even move the muscle there too with my hand (sometimes it makes a grindy noise).  Just today when I went to stand up I felt that pain again that I haven’t felt in months. Should I get it checked out now? It’s been persistent for 8-9 months now. Please help!
