  • Can anyone tell me what code addresses the issue of using a minimum of an 8-32 screw for support of fixtures.?

    As a Florida Electrician I've always heard that you can not hang fixtures with 6-32 screws as the sole support, and that a min. of an 8-32 screw must be used. Does any one know what Code or Codes address this?

  • For making coffee, is starting with hot or cold water better? (Please read the detail to the question)?

    I understand why you wouldn't want to use water from the water heater sediment and all, but I if I have a bottled water dispenser at work, would you use the heated spigot, or would you use the chilled spigot? We have a debate at work, I think that using the chilled spigot is kind of stupid as the coffie maker will have to heat chilled water and brews slower, seems smarter to use the heated water as sediment is not an issue here. Does any one have any facts?

  • Do you think that identification should be required to vote?

    If not what are you scared of? Maybe we should do the purple finger too!

  • How's the "Hope and Change" doing for you?

    I too hope that Obama's policies fail, I do not want America, the greatest country on earth, to "Change" the way he is changing it!

  • Do you think that Obama knows anything about economics?

    I started listening to Obama's audio book "the audacity of Hope", just to get some idea of what he is thinking, and in the introduction he states that during the Bush years the Democrats watched as the Republicans gave huge tax breaks to big business, which in his words "stuck it to the working man". Can some one explain to me how letting companies keep their own money instead of the government taking it, actually "sticks it to the working man"? I would think that at worse it wouldn't affect the working man at all, and I see the potential for many possible benefits. Perhaps the company can give raises or bonuses to the workers with the tax breaks, maybe health care benefits, vacation time to the workers, maybe be able to expand their business and employ more workers with the tax cuts.

  • Has anyone actually examined what happened on 9/11/01?

    I'm not much on the conspiracy theories, but I have looked at the tapes of the World Trade Center (WTC) Collapses, and I find it hard to believe that WTC #7 a sturdy steel building with relatively little damage (just a couple fires) collapsed, in fact it looks like a perfect demolition to me. I also thought that the towers came down awfully fast also (no resistance). Call me crazy, go ahead, but look closely at the tapes for yourself.

  • What is the United States Government?

    With some of the answers that I see on other questions, I thought it would be funny to see some of the ignorant answers from the far left. Perhaps this will educate some, and if they read just a little, they may be enlightened. Some may realize just how great this country is, and that it doesn't need "remaking" as Obama said in his Inauguration Speech, we just need to get back on track with the design.

  • Why is the United States going to Socialism?

    Socialism has proven to fail time and time again in other countries, it doesn't work. So why are we going to it? Better yet why are the people letting this happen? People seem to be forgetting how this country became great. Markets should decide what business does not the government, otherwise we will have Communism there is NO other way to spin it!

  • Why do some people think that taxation should be used to affect policies?

    It appears that now more than ever there are people trying to create taxation for political policy rather than a simple means to run what is NEEDED in Government, I hear people talking about taxing things just because they don't like it, or as punishment for having a certain vehicle or as a reward for having a certain vehicle. In a speech in Washington, The chief executive of Exxon Mobil Corp. Rex Tillerson said that a tax was a "more direct, a more transparent and a more effective approach" to curtailing greenhouse gases. Is this guy for real? I want to know another question let's call it part 2; How will taxation fix the climate? If your one of those self righteous types that say that it will change the peoples behavior and in the end helping the environment, I say - hey wacko! that's not the purpose of taxation! Also what government spending justifies the taxation?

  • Yhy not the Fair Tax?

    Check it out!

    http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer

    I don't care what political party that you belong to, this plan makes sense!

    This site even has a questions link that will answer any question that you may have, and this form of taxation would even make non payers pay by its very design, it would (by design) tax organized crime, prostitution, drug dealers, black market, also any and every cash business or activity which does not pay now. Totally fair for every one else too!

  • Was my question actually answered?

    I asked a question;

    "Was the 16th Amendment actually ratified, and if so what legislation enforces it?"

    Yahoo Answers removed what I thought was the best answer and replaced it with a comment that the community voted another "Best Answer", Check it out;

    "Best Answer - Chosen by Voters

    Well, I would not push that one. There are an awful lot of people in jail because they claimed that and decided to stop paying Taxes. The IRS and courts will do a number on you.

    If someone tells you they cannot enforce it, tell them you will follow suit after they stop paying taxes for a few years!!!!"

    MY QUESTION WAS NOT ANSWERED! Instead I got an opinion, and some advice. Just dumb to vote as best answer.

    I know everything in the chosen answer, but it may not really be legal, it appears that the amendment was "declared" ratified unconstitutionally.

    Perhaps YH has an agenda.

  • Was the 16th Ammendment actually ratified, and if so what legislation inforces it?

    I get answers like "Tax Code says so.", "there are people in jail", "don't pay and you will get arrested" ect... But is the tax code really legal, (constitutionally ratified)? I can't find the actual proof that the 16th amendment was indeed ratified, there was a declaration that it was, however some states that didn't submit a vote, were actually counted as ratified.

  • Was the 16th Ammendment actually ratified, and if so what legislation inforces it?

    I hear that the 16th Amendment was not properly ratified, and that there is not really a law for enforcing income taxation.
