5 AnswersCell Phones & Plans1 decade ago2009 First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit?
Ok....I know that the 2009 First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit of $8,000 has to be repaid if the home ceases to be your primary residence within 36 months.
BUT.....I read somewhere that if you have to move, due to a job, within that time, you don't have to pay it back.
I've done some research, but can't seem to find anything that verifies that.
6 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoSouth Daytona, Florida. Inexpensive apartment complex?
Hi! I'm planning on moving to the South Daytona, Florida area. I'd like to find an inexpensive apartment complex, or maybe a mobile home to rent. I have a small dog. Must be in a safe area.
Any suggestions? Opinions?
Thanks!
3 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade ago2008 Homebuyers credit - but now I want to sell.?
I’ve got a couple of questions – hopefully someone knows the answer….
I purchased a home – closed at the end of November 2008, did qualify and received the 2008 tax credit (got $6500, because I paid $65k for the house).
I now want to sell the house and would be willing to sell it for $64k. Is that $1000 loss enough of a loss that I would not have to pay the $6500 back?
Or….do I have to sell it for less than $58,500 ($65,000 – $6500 tax credit = $58,500)?
Ok…..next question…..a twist…
When I bought the home, I had a boyfriend (he lived with me in this home, but his name is not on the title, not on the mortgage).
He would like to buy this house from me, and we would probably do a land contract.
I’m thinking….if I sell it to him at a loss, I would not have to repay my $6500 tax credit, plus, he would qualify for the $8000 2009 tax credit.
As that just too sweet of a deal?
Any input you might have would be appreciated….
3 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoAre you charged for water even if you aren't spraying the hose?
Ok....maybe you can settle this disagreement.....
He says that it's ok to leave the water spigot to the hose on, that we are not using any water unless we spray the hose.
I disagree.
I say it's much like leaving an appliance plugged in to the wall socket - you are still using electricity even when the appliance is not turned on.
Your opinion?

14 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoI am buying a home in Indiana -closing is 10-1-07. Who has to pay the property tax bill that is due in Nov?
In Indiana, property taxes are for 2006, but payable in 2007. The house has been empty for the last couple of years, therefore there was no mortgage or homestead exemption. I will file for my mortgage and homestead exemption once we close (I think the filing deadline is either May or June 1st.) Will I have to pay the higher tax bill?
