Corporate Sponsors for Athletes?
I am a high school volleyball coach that is looking for fundraising opportunities for about 30 girls to play club volleyball. Club volleyball really improves every athletes skill significantly as well as being the main source of college recruiting currently. Our girls really want to play club volleyball in hopes to play in college and earn a scholarship.
With that said, we are interested in writing letters to request corporate sponshorship for either individuals or the entire team as many of the girls cannot afford to play club (approximately $1200-1300 per girl.) Can anyone explain what steps I can take to a) identify who to send letters to / visit and b) supply a sample letter? thank you!!

I am a volleyball coach for a high school. The coaching staff and I are looking for fundraising ideas for our 25 girls to play club volleyball this season as many of our girls cannot afford this type of investment. We are looking at needing to fundraise $1200-1300 per girl. Does anyone have any suggestions? We have already decided on car washes, our last one pulled in $800 for a full day....but other than that, we are at a loss...

1 AnswerPersonal Finance1 decade agoWhat coffee book for my guest book?
My fiance and I have decided we are going to use a coffee book for a guest book at our wedding. We want a large, hardcover book with mainly pictures/photos/cartoons..etc- just very little writing, so that our guests can sign inside the book and write us messages.
I would really prefer something funny or sentimental. We live in Florida, he is from Africa and speaks French, we are going to to Jamaica for our honeymoon, I am involved in animal rescue, he is an engineer...

2 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoWedding Cake Alternatives?
Well, I haven't wanted a cake from the get-go but my fiance has...so I said it was fine, but we have not found one we liked...and we have found ones we have found "okay" starting at $550...it's just not worth it to us!
Does anyone have any wedding cake alternative suggestions? I understand just a dessert instead, but we need some kind of display since our cake is in its own room that everyone will walk through to get to the bar, the dance floor and to their tables. My location is a lounge that has different rooms.
Our color is almost a tiffany blue (pool from david's bridal) and we have a seperate room that is going to be decorated with African stuff since my groom is from South Africa.
Please help! And the more creative the better! Thanks!

Can everyone post creative, unique or fun wedding traditions, ceremonies or even something someone just decided to incorporate for the heck of it that you have seen done at a wedding - both at the reception and in the ceremony itself.
For instance, I think the cake cutting ceremony is stupid...what would be a cool alternative?
Please post all of your experiences...even if they are way out there! More creative the better!
9 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoPain in my hip or hip flexor?
I've had lower back pain for some time now, I was seeing a chiropractor for a while and my primary care doctor told me to discontinue going. I had gone to my primary care for a check up after passing a kidney stone and while feeling my lower back I burst into tears in pain. He said it was my sciatic (nerve) and proscribed me some anti-inflammatory medication and to not do any high impact exercising for a while. This helped quite a bit.
Since then, the pain has been coming back slowly. It also made me aware that for some time now I had an annoying pop feeling in my front hip (the joint). It caused no pain, felt like a tendon was sliding over and past a bone. That has since disappeared and has been replaced by aching pain in the same spot and on occasion it feels out of place, with more of a sharp pain, and will eventually make an audible popping sound as it goes back into place.
What is this? How should I strengthen it? I am going back to my doctor after the holiday
5 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoCan you recommend things to give my puppy to help him lose some of his baby teeth?
My 5 month old puppy has 4 different teeth (two in the front and his two top canines) that have not fallen out even though his adult teeth have grown in. The vet said that we need to start wiggling them to get them out and if they are not out by January, we will need to get them pulled but I really want to avoid putting him under anesthesia.
The teeth aren't loose AT ALL and he doesn't sit still long enough for us to really sit there and wiggle them. Is there anything I can give him to at least get them moving at all? He has raw hides and a cow knee but those haven't done anything. Thank you in advance!
