I want to give my chemistry teacher a small gift to show my appreciation for her help throughout the year and found some funny chemistry-joke mugs online, but by the time I get them, school will be over (Monday). Where can I go buy something that's funny and chemistry related for my teacher?

I can just be calmly laying in bed and my heart suddenly starts to pound very hard.

I'm 17, 5'3. My pulse and blood pressure has always been higher than it should but my doctor has not worried too much about it. I was once denied to donate blood because they were extremely high and told me to get it checked out (that's when I started going to the doctor and my doctor told me to visit her once a week to check how my pulse and pressure continues. Eventually, we got my blood tested but nothing was wrong)

I also have an anxiety disorder and I've only had to go to the hospital once because of it.

Although I can see a connection between anxiety and the increased heart rate, I don't think they're actually connected because my heart rate increases out of nowhere, even when I'm just calmly laying down reading a book. My breathing also becomes more harsh and I have to take deep breaths. I can feel my heart pounding and it just happens out of nowhere and it's pretty common and now I'm becoming concerned.

Any ideas of what this might be? Should I go back to the doctor?

Let's just say I'm slightly obsessed with the movie (and books) and I've seen the movie in theaters more than I should have and I really shouldn't go watch it again since it's a lot of money spent. I've seen it online too but I would rather have the great quality of the movie theater than someone recording it on their phone. I want to enjoy it one more time at the movies but I want to when it's about to leave theaters so that I don't feel tempted to go watch it again.

The movie came out on March 21st and it's very popular. When do you think its last week in theaters will be approximately?

A lot of regular people go to award shows such as MTV Movie Awards. I know it's practically impossible to go now since it's in a week but I really wish I could go to the MTV Movie Awards, how do regular people attend those other than winning tickets? Do they buy tickets? Where?

Or where do they give away the tickets?

Or Movie premieres? For example, if I wanted to go to the official Divergent movie premiere where the celebrities attend, how could I? Some typical people go and I don't understand how or where they find tickets.

I'm doing a lab where we did trials and a questions says:

"Using your given mass of NaHCO3 [which is .2g], calculate the theoretical yield of CO2"

The formula is NaHCO3 + HCl = NaCl +CO3 + H2O

but I don't know how to begin.

I put my given (.2g) over 1 times 1 mol over NaCO3's mass times the molar bridge which would be 1/1 and then I don't know what to do. I don't even think I'm doing the right thing.

.2 NaCO3/1 x 1 mol/82.90g NaCO3 x 1 mol NaCO3/1mol CO2 ....

If I happen to be in the right direction, I know I'm supposed to convert it back to grams but I don't know what to put after the molar bridge?

I'm a Florida resident and want to go to the University of Colorado Denver (my family and I visit Colorado every year since I was 3) but would much rather be a resident in Colorado before attending since I'd be paying $7k for tuition rather than $21k as a out of state.

My parents and I talked about waiting to become a resident in Colorado before I go but I don't want to NOT go to some college while I wait to become a resident. What is a good and affordable college that I could go to in Colorado, preferably Denver, while I wait as I become a state resident? (Which is 12+ consecutive months living in Colorado)

I haven't had time to get my eyebrows waxed because I've been traveling and I just got a spray tan for the first time to see how it works out for prom, I definitely need to get my eyebrows done but I know that waxing will remove the tan.

I just watched Divergent twice and I'm IN LOVE with it. I was wondering if I should read the Trilogy or not because since it's such a great movie, it wasn't just a crappy movie based off a book, it was very well done and I don't want to know what happens but at the same time I just want to read the books.

I have a 4.5 GPA, I took all honors my sophomore year and this year I'm taking:

AP English Language & Composition

AP US History

AP Spanish

Alg 2 Honors

Chemistry Honors

(This summer I'm going to a medical camp and senior year I'm joining HOSA [Medical Club at school]. My major in college is going to be Biology)

However, I want Senior year to be an easy year since it's the last year of high school and colleges don't put as much focus senior year than other years.

-I can't decide on whether I want Analysis of Functions Honors, or Pre-Calculus. (Which one is easiest and which one is most similar to Algebra? You could say Alg is my strong suit haha)

-I can't decide on whether I should take AP Psychology or AP Biology.

I took Biology honors sophomore year and passed with an A. However, it's been a year since I take biology so I don't know if I should take AP next year. Plus, the class is most likely to be very very hard. And AP Psychology (there's only AP at my school) I'm really interested in that class but everyone that takes it this year say that the teacher can be confusing, doesn't explain well and there's a lot of work, but that the class in general is really fun and interesting.

Should I forget AP Bio since I'm going into HOSA next year? Should I still take it since it'll be my major?

What would you take if you didn't want to over-stress your senior year?

My top choices are the University of Colorado Denver/Boulder but I'm a Florida resident. I plan on starting out in Florida for the first year or two and transferring there but I want to become a Colorado resident first though for saving money in tuition. I have people that I can live with in Denver but I don't want to not go to school while I become a resident. Should I go to a cheap community college meanwhile? What's the best option I have? Any new ideas? Thank you!

I am very interested in pursuing a career in the medical field. This summer from June 25th-July 4th I will be attending a Summer Leadership Medical Program for high school students (I am currently in 11th grade) and I just got an e-mail offering me a position in another program in Washington from July 25th-August 2nd.

The price is not an issue, but would going to both programs too much? Or should I go for it?

I just bought a new Macbook Pro and it doesn't have a place to insert CDs. I tried downloading it again from www.officeformac.com/download but every time I insert the 25-digit code it says:

"The Office for Mac 2011 Product Key provided represents a product which is not eligible for free download. Please re-enter your Product Key and try again, or check the list of eligible products."

Other recommendations have been to download a free trial and insert the code there, but I can't find any.

Are there any other options?

Arguments in our house aren't really common, but they're also not rare since I'm 16, of coarse arguments are going to happen once in a while.

Back in December I got in a surprisingly big fight with my dad and I began having an anxiety attack. I've hyperventilated before but eventually moves on after a while and after I vomit. But in December it went overboard. It was difficult to breath, I became pale and cold, was excessively sweating, shortness of breath, I couldn't open my eyes, I couldn't communicate, began having muscle spasms, and my hands began curling up and I had no control over anything. My dad only kept making it worse by yelling at me and insulting me. After about an hour-hour and a half, my mom convinced him to take me to the hospital. He did, although he kept insulting me on the way there and he began to calm down once we got close to the hospital. That's that. They gave me medication and calmed me down and relaxed my muscles. We went back home about 2-3 hours later. They gave us a paper explaining the disorder and how one should react and do if someone is having an anxiety attack.

Last night we had another big argument and I went to my room to calm down because I was afraid that the attack would happen again. I sat on the floor against my door and did start hyperventilating and sweating but I tried to control my breathing before it got extreme like they showed me at the hospital last time. After 20-30 minutes I was calm again, until my dad started yelling and knocking on the door. My breathing started immediately after that and I opened the door because I wanted help. My dad began insulting me and it only made it worse. My mom came into the room and told him that the yelling and insults are making me worse and he stormed off and my mom helped me calm down.

My dad is not an aggressive guy. He is very stubborn and when he's angry he's a different person and it scares me. He doesn't have drug problems or anything either. But these incidents are something I honestly can't get over. My dad has never apologized for when he does something like this. And before this I understand, he's the dad and he doesn't have the need to apologize to me. But the insults and screaming during a time where I have absolute no control over, I feel like it's too much. Whenever I have been disrespectful, once I am calm again I always make sure to apologize, and I feel like I deserve some kind of apology for this situation. I don't mean to sound stubborn and arrogant, but it's just something that I feel will make me move on. I can't be near my dad since last night, I feel uncomfortable.

I'm just begging for someone to help me. I honestly just need to hear my dad say once that he's sorry. I'm a teenager, I've made mistakes and I've apologized for them. I feel like I just need to hear something like that from my dad too.
