  • I need an audition piece for "The Drowsy Chaperone"...?

I'm doing a local CYT production (for high schoolers) this summer, and the audition is coming up (in around two weeks). They have already given me the monologue, all I need is a fantastic song! I really need to rely on this; as I suck at dancing. The nice thing is, I get a part regardless, but I'd really like to be Janet or the Chaperone. I'm a mezzo-soprano with belt and vibrato, so not much will really be out of my range. The songs I've thought about are as follows:

    Turn Back, O Man-Godspell

Fly, Fly Away-Catch Me If You Can

    All That Jazz-Chicago

Part Of Your World-The Little Mermaid (in F)

I don't think the auditions are going to be super-competitive, but I'd like to have an edge. If there's another song you'd think I'd do good with, feel free to comment!

  • Anybody know where I can find the screenplay for Megamind?

I'm looking for a forensics piece for next year (our coach makes us start practicing next year's events after this year's tournaments are over). I had thought that Megamind would be a good duo piece, but I don't know how to get it. I keep looking on the internet for the script, but it's only showing me one of the beta copies (MasterMind), and I don't believe I can use it to perform. We also are not allowed to use transcriptions, however, I could maybe get away with it until I got to districts or state. We compete in Kansas, if that makes a difference at all.

  • Is it too late for me to become a somewhat good dancer?

I'm fourteen and I'm beginning to think about college, and I want to major in drama/musical theatre. Problem is, you need to be a really good dancer, and I realized one thing:I can't dance. Sure, I can act, I can sing, but I can't dance. I took ballet for about two years in elementary school but we had to quit because we lived too far away and there were no other closer schools.

What dance discipline would be the best for me to start out in? And what class should I be placed in (meaning beginners with little kids or intermediate even though they're a little bit better than me). And what do I need to know before starting? How much is too much money to pay?

Also, I'm about 5'1", and I wear a US Womens' 10. Would I be able to find a pair of ballet shoes that big without being en pointe? I have the en pointe "body" but not the talent yet. And where is the best source for ballet gear?

I have so many questions about this, and I really hope the answer isn't "nope, you can't dance ever go home". I'm not looking for dance as a career, but I think it would complement my future career greatly.

  • How do I become a "triple threat"?

I want to continue acting for the rest of my life as a career (not necessarily on Broadway, but I would be ecstatic if that happened), and I've noticed I've fallen short from some of the requirements.

First off: acting. This is my strongest area of the "triple threat" guidelines, and if this could be the thing that is noticed most, I'd be golden. I've been doing acting since I was eight, and I'm preparing to do around 6-8 plays a year through school and community theatre in the next four years. I usually get pretty good roles, but of course there's a lot to learn still.

Second: singing. I hate to say this, but I'm about a dramatic contralto. I have a bit of a tough time getting over my break, but after warming up I can hit some somewhat high notes. I can use belt, but my vibrato is slightly weak. Thankfully, I've been blessed with good pitch. I may or may not be taking choir or voice lessons.

Third: dancing. I haven't taken a dance class since I was 6. I'm planning on taking some dance lessons even though I would definitely not be able to be a professional dancer. I'm pretty tall and slim so I guess ballet would be good for training.

Please tell me if there's something I'm completely missing when it comes to my training. Also: I'm a freshman. I've been doing the acting shindig since I was seven.

  • Would it be worth it to buy the new iPod Touch?

I've heard it's coming out in a couple weeks, and I want to know if, telling from the specs, it will be worth buying/saving up for. I have an iPod Touch 4g, and I'm pretty happy with it, although the addition of new colors, Siri, better video, etc; sounds really tempting. Should I buy it?

  • Would selling my iPod Touch be a good idea?

I want a little money so I can save up to buy the fifth generation iTouch (I have the fourth), but I'm not sure how much it would go for. Would it be worth selling or should I just keep it? I babysit, so I should be able to cover at least half of the cost of the new iPod (the rest I could get for Christmas). Oh, and my screen is perfectly unharmed, and no scratches on the back.

  • Why is my heart rate so high?

Today during gym, we used heart rate monitors (chest band version) to keep within our target heart zone. We were supposed to keep withing 140-180. When I had it on (resting), it measured around 130, and when I started running, about 193, sometimes going over 200. I'm a freshman and I weigh around 145 lbs, but I'm 6'1". I was running a little bit more than most people but it wasn't crazy.

I also have Reynaud's Phenomenon and asthma, but those don't tend to hinder me much from activity. I eat healthy and do extremely well in fitness testing. The only reason I didn't know about this before was because I never had a heart rate monitor on before that I could check before. Is this healthy at all or should I see a doctor?

  • Found Out That I have At Least One Half-Sister?

So I was looking at my dad's about page on Facebook trying to see if there was something that he liked that I didn't know about that I could get for him for fathers day. I scrolled down, and he had me listed as his daughter, along with some other family members, and to my surprise, another daughter who I have never seen before. I thought it might have been an accident, so I click her page, and sure enough, she listed my dad as her dad too.

I haven't ask my dad what's up with this yet, and I'm not even sure if she's my half-sister. What should I do? I don't want to ask my mom because I don't even know if she knows.

  • I need patterns to use with size 2 Omega thread!?

So, my grandma gave me A TON of Omega thread in various colors. They're nylon size two, and I can't find anything to do with them. I want to crochet something. I've tried making doilies and Barbie clothes, but the fabric feels too plasticy and stiff. I need patterns so I can start using this thread all up.

  • What language/medium do you think in?

I was raised in both fluent Spanish and English. My mother, who only speaks English fluently, says she thinks in English. My father knows both languages well, but he has told me he thinks in Spanish. I have always thought in pictures. Is this due to my upbringing?

Now as a young adult, it's easy for me to do linguistic tasks such as spell and learn new languages.

  • How do you fake a kiss for a church skit?

I have to do this skit:http://www.thesource4ym.com/skits/skit.aspx?id=75 with some other guys in my church group. Unfortunately, because of the setting, it can't be a real kiss, and I have no other choice but to fake it. And by me, I mean whoever ends up actually playing the part (we practice the hour before...sigh). Does anyone have a suggestion? (Oh, and I'm probably doing the "date girl" part.)
