Will an asker learn more from: Answer only; Complete solution;Probing questions and hints so asker will THINK?
Some askers obviously have not done their homework. They want to avoid the struggle of thinking, making guesses and checking them, trying and trying again. Are we helping such people learn to think by providing answers, or even providing solutions? I don't think so. We can provide more help by providing hints and asking probing questions to get the asker thinking. I always learn more when I have to struggle, re-read my text, make guesses and check them. In other words struggle. Plato told a king that there is no royal road to mathematics. Everyone who wants to learn math, to learn to think, to change their brain into a lean mean thinking machine, must do their own work. Hints and leading questions can be beneficial. But chewing someones food for them is usually only done for babies. What suggestions do you have to help askers learn, not do their homework for them?

For example, my antivirus program has a "setup" program. Is this setup program necessary after the main antivirus program is up and running?
