A good friend and I were talking yesterday. She commented to me that because she was raised in an all boy family (7 boys), and being the only girl, grew up tomboyish. Now, in her 30's, she finds that she doesn't know "how" to look or dress like the woman she wants to be. She's more prone to dress tomboyish, which isn't her style completely. She said she likes the sporty look with clothes, but what colors work good for her, whats the best eye color, what hair style works good for her face etc? She said, she looks at woman, and sees many that have a sex appeal, but she doesn't know if she could even get that now, at her age. I felt bad for her, So, I said to her, too bad there wasn't a place where women could go, that would teach them how to apply makeup correctly, and dress them "properly" and teach them how to "act" more like a woman. Her mother never nurtured her in those areas, and now, she's reaping from that and hates it. I felt bad for her and thought to ask the Yahoo community. So, does anyone know if theres a place out there like that? Ideas are all welcomed. Thanks Gang!!

I used to live in Minnesota and purchased some delicious custard eggnog in my local grocery store. I recently moved to the east coast and cannot seem to find it anywhere. I know its just a seasonal item, but does anyone know WHO makes it? That way I can write the company to find out where they sell it nearby.

bail out if possible...knowing that people on the ground will be killed because of it OR would you go down with the plane so you wouldn't have to always know that you indirectly killed innocent people?? I was thinking of the plane that just went down in San Diego, and the pilot is alive and a man just lost his wife, kids and mother in law all at once. How would you feel if you were in his shoes...??? I personally would want to live, but would find it hard to do knowing that I lived and others died. JMO

I personally am going to buy a bunch of Walmart gift cards and just pass them out for families that need them. Do you have any thing that you do each holiday season to help someone else? ex: buy them a meal, give them food.

Be descriptive and tell me what it is. Mine is when I was in 5th grade, I was pushing a chair fast, running behind it and it got caught on the rug and I flipped over it. The worst part was that the entire class (all 120 of them) were in a silent moment and they all saw it. I'm still embarassed even to this day.LOL

an 11 year old girl? I am a Mentor and have just been introduced to my "mentee" girl about two months ago. We get together about every two weeks (she has to visit her dads every other week) so I dont really know her all that much. Still trying to "break through the walls of mistrust that others have caused etc" so I am wondering what I should get her for Christmas? I have asked her and she says things that are expensive (I hardly make any money to begin with) and I dont want to train her into thinking that all I am is a cash machine and someone to take her to expensive places that she would normally not be able to go to. I enjoy showing her the "other" things in life that are out there, but have to be careful as to not let her think that thats what being a mentor is all about...cause its not. Anyway, some ideas would be great. Please dont tell me a mp3 player, phone, ipod, etc. I asked for inexpensive gift ideas for an 11 year old girl-she's into clothing and boys etc-not really the "brainy" kind. Thanks so much.

ps. a mentor is sort of like a "big brother/sister program". Its voluntary.

and if so, what do you think of it? I am contemplating on getting one from sprint, along with their everything plan but before I do, I want to know what you all think of it. is it easy to use? how is the battery life? do you get cut off for no reason? do you find sprint has a good amount of towers available? also, if you have the ear-piece connection, is it clear, or do you sound muffled to people? is it easy to download music/wallpaper and what are the pics like with the camera? tell me all you can.

and when I go to the bank to "cash" in with the money, I am wondering what I will have to pay in taxes? Is it the state tax and the federal tax? I live in minnesota.

Dont you just HATE it when students of all ages put off their homework all weekend and then, on Sunday afternoon/evening they decide to take it out and then ask us all here to basically GIVE them the answers when all they have to do is pay attention in class, take notes and if they need extra help, just search for it online...INSTEAD of asking US to do it for them. I sure do HATE it. Anyone else sick of it. I say we don't help them but instead just skip over their questions. Its one thing if they genuinely don't know the answer, but I haven't found that yet.

I figure I'll change the pace from the election to something more festive and cheery. So, what is the best gift you've received on Christmas/Hanukkah? Don NOT include something you've gotten on your birthday or anniversary etc, just those two holidays. No matter what age you were.

She can only eat fruits and veggies for the first week...THATS IT. Nothing else. She takes the pills along with eating the food. The problem is that she has run out of creative ways to make the veggies to eat. Any ideas? She cant have rice, dairy, cheeze, etc so please dont include that in your thoughts. They have "key" words that when we type them if they dont like what we're saying they put up that stupid "were taking a break" to discourage you in posting. the reason I know this is because I kept that window open, opened up another tab and continued to answer the YA boards and they all worked. So, I'm onto you YA. Has anyone else found that to be true? Just wondering.
