My parents are being severely jipped by their electric company. What recourse can they take?
My parents have always had electric bills equaling up to two hundred dollars every month. All of the sudden, their electric bill jumped up $400; however, my parents know for a fact that they have not used that much lectricity. They are being jipped. Is there any recourse they can take? This happened last year to them as well, and when they tried to fight it, the electric company stated that the charges were valid because that is what the meter stated when it is not true (They have now researched on how to read their meter, so they can try to trap them in the future and get them at their own game, but this does not help now.), so my parents could not win it. The electric company is doing it to them again this yearbecause they can, and they have the power over my parents because they are the ones who supply their electricity. This is so corrupt. If you know of anything that they can do, please advise. Thanks so much. i hate to see my parents get cheated.
5 AnswersPersonal Finance1 decade agoQuestions Concerning HIV/AIDS?
IN tribute to one of my favorite cousins who is living with AIDS and in tribute to two of my friends who have died of AIDS, I feel compelled to write articles that will bring more awareness to the condition, as well as help and support to those suffering from it. So, I have some questions, and it is my hope that you can answer these questions and provide me with the resources. They are as follows:
1. How does staff treat HIV/AIDS patients in the hospital? Are these patients isolated: or, are they allowed in the general hospital population? Are HIV/AIDS patients ever discriminated against or overlooked due to having the infection?
2. Are there services that will help with the costs of healthcare for patients suffering with HIV/AIDS? I’m talking about those who do not qualify for welfare or Medicaid but those who are still working but not making enough to pay for health insurance like a lot of us, since more and more jobs are not offering benefits.
3. What support is offered to sufferers residing in poor neighborhoods? It does not seem to be a whole lot.
If anyone wants to write anything crude or ignorant on here, don’t bother. This is a sensitive subject to me, and nasty remarks about HIV/AIDS will not be accepted or tollerated.
2 AnswersInfectious Diseases1 decade agoDoes anyone know where I can find the electronic version of Storm of Steel by Ernst Junger?
I've tried looking all over the Internet for this book in electronic format but have not been able to locate it. Perhaps, I'm missing something? If you cannot find the electronic version of this book, online text is just as good, so long as the website contains the entire text of the book. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
1 AnswerEngineering1 decade agoHelp with burning, oozing, and rawness caused by hair relaxer! Please!?
Two days ago, I got a hair relaxer. Toward the end, it started to burn real bad. It hurt worse when it was washed out.
The next day, my scalp was oozing and scabbing, and it still is now. My hair is even sticking to my head in certain places. I'm afraid of what might happen. Will it heal into my scalp because the scabbing could be over my hair? Should I be really worried? What would you suggest I do about this?
I've never had this happen before when getting relaxers. This is the first time. I'm sort-of freaking out right now.
4 AnswersHair1 decade agoCan someone advise me on the following questions? Thanks so much in advance! :)?
I have some questions. Please take the time to read all this and see what you have to offer.
I have a very strong desire to nurture, cuddle and love. I even feel sensitive to other babies that cry that aren’t even mine. I’ve cared for many babies that were not my own, and I’ve done an awesome job at it. The maternal instincts inside of me, the gift that is provided to every woman, makes me strongly desire children of my own. I really want them, but here is what I’m dealing with.
1. I have a condition that has a one hundred percent chance of spreading from me to any child I bring into this world. There is no chance that a child will come out void of it. My children will most certainly be born with my disease. Some have told me I’m selfish for wanting to bring my own children into the world knowing they will be sick with this, but somehow, I don’t feel like that. Am I being selfish to want something that is a part of me, even though this is the case?
2. I also have a chance of having multiples. It does not run in my family. I have possibly some reproductive issues. When I say multiples, I mean more than twins. I don’t have too much of problem with this since I’ve cared for many kids at once, but I worry about some things, such as how I can give them equal attention—I’m a strong believer and supporter in the attachment style of parenting—as I don’t want any of them to feel neglected. It is one thing to care for many kids at different ages, but it is a whole new ball game when they are all the same age, especially when they are all newborn needing feedings and needing everything else. I don’t want any of my children to be deprived in the least bit, especially of the human touch and emotional well being. I want them to be happy. Perhaps, those with multiples can give some suggestions. I do learn a lot from Jon and Kate Plus Eight, but any advice is welcome. I’d like to know the following:
How can I co-sleep effectively with multiples that are newborns? I’m asking this as I’m a firm believer of co-sleeping, as I’m very against having my babes sleep on their own independently until they are ready and able to do that. I have to know that they are comfortable with this before I have them do it.
Do any of you with multiples have diaper changing schedules? Or, do you change them all the time when they are wet. Personally, I prefer to change them every time they are wet, but I’m curious what has worked for you.
Can you wear multiple newborns in a sling? I believe in baby wearing. Usually, I’ve had to wear only one baby at a time, as that is all I needed to do when I am caring for other’s babies, but with multiples, things are different. I really hope I can still baby wear since I love it so much.
This is all I have to ask for now.
I look forward to your help. Thanks so much in advance for your time in answering my questions. I appreciate it.

10 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agoMy parents do not approve of the one I love. Any suggestions?
I'm almost twenty-four. I turn twenty-four on the nineth of December. My friends introduced me to a guy. I got to know him for awhile. We met once after talking on the phone for six month, and I fell in love with him. My parents really hate the relationship, and here is why:
We are eighteen years apart. He is forty-two years old. Age is not important, as he has a lot of respect for me, and I've seen/heard his demeanor with other people. He deals with the mentally challenged quite well, and he is really humble. My parents, on the other hand, think this relationship is entirely inappropriate and will do everything to make sure it fails. This is not fair to me, as I'm an adult and feel I should be able to choose whom I want. I know for a fact my parents had obsticles to overcome. I know for a fact people did not want them together. Yet, they overcome that but fail to remember that with me. They think he is a pervert trying to go after fresh meat when it is hardly the case. No matter what I tell them, it never works or has any influence. Any suggestions? Any advice? Please help.
7 AnswersFamily1 decade agoAre there any good online incontinence support groups?
I'm twenty-three years of age and suffer from urinary incontinence, which results in me having to rely on wearing diapers twenty-four/seven. Because of society's negative stigma towards needing diapers and because it is just not normal for people my age to wear them, sometimes I feel alone no matter how much support I receive from my family and friends. So, I was wondering if anyone knew of any good online support groups.
I was a part of two of them: but, they have somewhat gone downhill. While it is great to have the support of my family and friends, they don't truly understand because they are not going through this. Every medication I've taken over the years has failed. I've been through many, many doctors and specialists, as well as to some of the top hospitals in the nation, as my parents stood by me through my youth desperate to find a cure. I've done it all just to be told that nothing else could be done, which now leaves me to doning only one thing that I hate the most--wearing diapers. I've battled this problem all my life and would like to get in touch with people dealing with the same thing.
Oh, I will conclude by saying that if anyone wants to make negative statements about wearing diapers, just save it. I already know how society feels about it, as they can't throw it in your face enough about diapers being only for babies, which is entirely incorrect. I'm an intelligent woman with an English major successfully running my own computer business (I'm a computer service tech.), which is hardly the characteristics of a helpless infant. So, if you are one of those, I'd rather not hear from you, as you are narrow minded and keep the stigma alive and burning which, in turn, puts salt into the already weeping wounds of people living with this condition. Such negativity is what makes it hard to heal and accept oneself. If you can offer help, I'm willing to take it. Thanks so much for any positive contribution. You'll not only help me but others down the line who are two scared and embarrassed to ask, as there are an estimated 22 million who suffer from incontinence but don't come out of the closet about it for reasons of embarrassment and how society stigmatizes the whole issue.

4 AnswersOther - Education1 decade agoWhat do you think of the term "blumble butt" to describe a fat person?
I like to set my own trends as I like to be original. I was telling my younger sister about my term as it came up in conversation. She thinks it's gay: however, I love it. What do you all think.
6 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWhat can my male friend do to get peace from his abusive psychopath partner?
I have a friend who was dating this girl who turned out to be a total psycho.
Now as a result of this horrible relationship, he has ended up in a wheelchair for some time and is being rehabilitated due to broken feet. She has hit him multiple times. A PFA (Protection from Abuse) order was filed to kep her away, and he has been to court multiple times. Here is where I need your help.
She is sneaking her way back into the apartment as she has a set of keys. She has even left a note stating she went to jail though she really had not. He is working with the landlord to get the locks changed. And today, she had her father wait outside the courthouse on the elevator for him. They will not charge her since the father did not say anything. Isn’t this wrong? Isn’t this a violation of the PFA as this is direct contact? She seems to be very good at lying her way out of things.
