  • Fruit sugar? Veggie sugar? Sugar in nuts and soymilk? Does this count as the total number if sugar grams I eat?

    In regards to fruit, how many sugar grams should I consume? I try to eat around 10-11 grams of added sugar a day; I eat healthy. I just wanted to know how many grams of sugar from fruit should I consume being that fruit has so much sugar in a daily recommended of 1- 1-1/2 cups of it. And how many grams of vegetable sugar grams should I eat? I am 26 years old, 100 pounds, 5'2.

    I hear that I should eat 50 to 60 to even 80 grams from researching on the web... But that sounds too small (50 grams) because I like nuts like almonds and raisins and berries. Are nut sugar grams considered regular sugar or should I add that to the 50-80 grams of natural sugar?

    Here is what I found on web;

    Fruit Intake:

    According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2 cups of fruit daily is recommended if you are a male age 14 or older. For adult women, the recommendation is 2 cups of fruit daily from age 19 through 30 and 1 1/2 cups after age 30.

    Sugar:

    A report released in 2006 by the World Health Organization (WHO) urges people to limit their daily consumption of free (added) sugars to less than 10 percent of their total energy intake (Diet Nutrition and the Prevention of Chronic Diseases; TRS916). This recommendation adds up to approximately 12 teaspoons (48 grams) of added (free) sugar a day based on an average 2000-calorie diet

  • Counting sugar grams?? Does fruit and veggies count?

    Here is what I found on web and what I wrote down;

    Also, Japanese eat around *40 grams of sugar excluding fruits and veggies but including nuts, soy milk, tofu, etc. Some say the cal percentage shouldn't exceed from 6 to 10 to even 30% of our daily calories. Some also say a person on a 1,000 cal diet shouldn't eat more than 16 grams of added sugar (which hopefully excludes soy milk and nuts!) The American Heart Association says women shouldn't go over 25 grams of added sugar. When it comes to natural sugar from fruits and veggies it seems 50 grams to some for sedentary people.

  • Help with weight please .. So depressed?

    Hey all

    For past 7 weeks I have been eating 1,138 cals approx per day... I haven't worked out either... But first read...

    Please read before you answer and please no annoying or ride comment. Because I'll just thumb down your answer. No 1200 calorie plans either!!! That crap doesn't work on my condition! Anyway, I use to workout like crazy, burning at least 700 calories a day and eating around 1,184 calories to 1,400. As soon as I stopped I have fluctuated 5-10 pd gain on the scale. This is so annoying and has me so depressed. Can someone please help me with a quick diet plan to loose these 10 pounds. Last time I checked I was 109 pounds (on the a.m.) and I use to be 95-100 Pds. I am 5 ft 2 and a half btw lol (gotta add the half!) and on ideal weight to height charts I should be 99 pounds as the lowest. I need to loose weight and quite quickly. Thank you on advance and looking forward to some intelligent answers and information... I weighed myself 5 days before my period... Would that affect the scale???? I wouldn't think so

    I am 25 years old
