  • Paying rent for my apartment?

I recently got an apartment. My landlord and I got into a disagreement about rent. The lease states that rent is due on the 1st of the month. The next section states that late charges will occur if rent is not paid by the 5th. I told my landlord that I would pa on the 2nd thinking it wouldn't be that big of deal since late fees don't happen until after the 5th. The landlord then got angry and said it had to absolutely be paid on the 1st and there is no leeway. They went on to say that they will charge me late fees starting on the 2nd if I didn't pay and after the 5th day I would have to move out. I don;t see how this is possible since the late fees don't even start until the 5th. How much of this is true? The lease is a standard Chicago apartment lease.

  • How to separate a String by commas in Java?

I am coding a project. I have a text file of a stores inventory. The file is in order by "name, section, numberInStock". I need to make an array of size 3 that holds the 3 categories for each item, one in each slot of the array. That array will be placed into another array, but that isn't the problem. I am using Scanner to scan in the file line by line. Once I scan a line and it is in the above format, how do I separate the 3 parts into the 3 array slots? Is there a method or java class I can use that will scan up to a comma and then stop so I can store that? What options do I have?

  • Java Method to choose between 2 other Methods?

I am working on a cs assignment for a java class. The assignment is to create two different methods that can disguise the word "password" from a String. The two methods use different disguises. I am supposed to make a third method that "chooses" one of the methods to use for the disguise. How would I go about doing that?

  • Cause of thigh irritation?

My inner right thigh recently became irritated. It looks completely normal, no swelling or redness or bumps, but when it comes in contact with anything it feels uncomfortable and highly sensitive. What could be the cause of this and how can I make it better?

  • How do I pick out words from a text file with numbers?

I am working on a computer science class project. It is written in java. I was given a file that contains integers, chars, doubles, and Strings. I was told to create arrays to store the data for later use. I have no problem using a for loop to put all the ints, doubles, chars into an array. I am having trouble with Strings. I am using scanner, so when looking for ints, my for loop would contain scan.nextInt() in order to find the next integer. How can I isolate words so that they too can be stored? There is no scan.nextString() and even if there was, everything is a string. What is the simplest way I can do this? (In a beginner level class and professor doesn't want us using advanced methods we didn't learn in class)

  • Need Help With Arrays?

Working on a project for my computer science class. Just learned about an array and that the syntax is type variableName[] = new type[size]. The project wants me to create an array of counters that counts the number of times a particular method is called. Can I just leave the "size" part blank since I don't know how much memory to allocate for it because it could be an infinite number of times? How do I go about this?

  • I am in the midst of being scammed. How do I stop it?

I got an email stating I could be paid $600 a week by sending payments from buyer to seller through a legitimate company. I looked it up and the company was real. I am a college student and the email stated that they got my resume from my schools career center (I actually gave the career center my resume which made ti easier to believe). I just received a check for $2000 that I am supposed to put into my account and then withdraw and send the cash through western union to a person whose information they gave me through email. I got suspicious and looked up scams online and found that this is a common internet scam. I have a $2000 check sitting on my desk and I dont know what to do now. any help?
